Which transportation companies sponsor visas in Oklahoma?
Major sponsors include BNSF Railway for rail operations and engineering roles, American Airlines for aircraft maintenance and technical positions in Tulsa, and freight companies like ABF Freight and Yellow Corporation. Oil and gas transportation firms such as Williams Companies and ONEOK also sponsor visas for pipeline engineering and logistics management roles throughout the state.
How to find transportation visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Search Migrate Mate's Oklahoma transportation job listings to find current visa sponsorship opportunities. Focus on Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro areas where most major employers are located. Target rail operations, aviation maintenance, and energy transportation sectors, as these industries have the strongest track record of sponsoring international workers in Oklahoma.
Which visa types are most common for transportation roles in Oklahoma?
H-1B visas dominate for transportation engineering, logistics management, and technical roles requiring specialized knowledge. TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican professionals in engineering positions. L-1 visas are common for intracompany transfers, particularly with international airlines and multinational logistics companies operating through Oklahoma's transportation corridors.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most transportation sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City leads with BNSF Railway headquarters, major trucking terminals, and aerospace operations. Tulsa follows closely with American Airlines maintenance hub and Williams Companies pipeline operations. Lawton offers opportunities with military transportation contractors, while smaller cities along Interstate 40 and 35 corridors host regional logistics and freight operations.
What are the prevailing wage considerations for transportation jobs in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's lower cost of living allows competitive transportation wages that often exceed Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements. Rail engineers and aviation technicians typically command higher wages due to specialized skills. Energy transportation roles, particularly pipeline operations, offer premium compensation reflecting the state's oil and gas industry prominence.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored transportation jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
