Major transportation employers sponsoring visas in Pennsylvania include Norfolk Southern (headquartered in Norfolk, VA but with significant PA operations), SEPTA in Philadelphia, UPS logistics centers, FedEx Ground (headquartered in Pittsburgh), and CSX Transportation. Port authorities in Philadelphia and smaller freight companies throughout the state also sponsor international professionals for logistics, operations management, and specialized technical roles.

H-1B visas dominate for professional roles like transportation planners, logistics coordinators, and operations analysts requiring bachelor's degrees. L-1 visas are common for international transfers within major freight companies. How to find transportation visa sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international job seekers with Pennsylvania transportation employers willing to sponsor work visas. The platform filters opportunities specifically by state and industry, making it easy to identify companies like SEPTA, Norfolk Southern operations, and regional logistics firms actively hiring international talent for transportation and logistics positions.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most transportation sponsorship opportunities?
Philadelphia leads with port operations, SEPTA transit system, and major logistics hubs near the airport. Pittsburgh follows with FedEx Ground headquarters, CSX rail yards, and regional freight distribution centers. Harrisburg offers opportunities with state transportation departments and regional carriers, while Allentown benefits from proximity to major Northeast shipping corridors and warehouse operations.
Are there specific considerations for transportation visa sponsorship in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania's prevailing wage requirements vary significantly between Philadelphia's high-cost urban market and rural transportation corridors. Many transportation roles require DOT certifications or security clearances that international workers must obtain post-hiring. The state's strong union presence in public transit and freight rail can affect sponsorship timelines and job classifications for visa applications.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored transportation jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
