JOB SUMMARY:
At Teledyne, the Materials Quote Specialist plays a crucial role in developing accurate, competitive, and detailed material quotes for new bid proposals in the aerospace and defense industries. This position is part of our Proposals quoting team, supporting TAES Tennessee site.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

- Analyze and quote materials using customer-provided data inputs, including Bills of Materials (BOM), approved manufacturer lists, custom design specifications, testing requirements, and scope of work data packages.
- Review and interrupts customer drawings/prints.
- Organize data packages to communicate Request for Proposals with suppliers.
- Coordinate and communicate with suppliers to secure best pricing and delivery lead times through RFPs via quote software, email and phone.
- Collaborates with internal team members and suppliers to extract information to meet RFP deadlines.
- Create and utilize spreadsheets for detailed materials pricing reports.
- Work under the direction of the Material Sourcing Manager and collaborate with other team members to ensure quote accuracy.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3+ years of experience in electronics in purchasing, supply chain, and/or electronics component distribution.
- Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experienced in reading and understanding customers’ Bills of Materials, Drawings/Blueprints, Electronic Data, and Specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Experience with quoting software such as CalcuQuote, QuoteWin, and Silicon Expert.
- Previous experience in aerospace and defense industries.
- Knowledge of SMT manufacturing environment.
