Which food & beverage companies sponsor visas in Tennessee?
Major Tennessee food companies that sponsor visas include Tyson Foods (poultry processing in Goodlettsville), Kellogg's (cereal manufacturing in Memphis), Jack Daniel's distillery in Lynchburg, and Nissin Foods in Lancaster. Regional dairy processors, craft breweries in Nashville, and food distribution centers throughout the state also sponsor H-1B, L-1, and other work visas for specialized roles.
How to find food & beverage visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Use Migrate Mate to search Tennessee food and beverage positions filtered specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility. Focus on manufacturing hubs like Memphis, Nashville, and Chattanooga where major food companies operate. Target roles in food science, quality assurance, supply chain management, and process engineering, as these positions typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship requirements.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most food & beverage sponsorship jobs?
Memphis leads with major food processing facilities including Kellogg's and Cargill operations. Nashville offers opportunities with Tyson Foods subsidiaries and emerging craft beverage companies. Chattanooga has McKee Foods (Little Debbie) and other regional manufacturers. Smaller cities like Lynchburg (Jack Daniel's) and Cookeville also provide specialized distillery and manufacturing positions.
What visa types are most common for food & beverage roles in Tennessee?
H-1B visas dominate for food scientists, quality assurance managers, and process engineers at Tennessee's major food manufacturers. L-1 visas are common for international food companies transferring managers to Tennessee facilities. TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican professionals in food science and management roles. Some companies also sponsor O-1 visas for specialized culinary or distillery expertise.
What should I know about food & beverage prevailing wages in Tennessee?
Tennessee's prevailing wages for food industry roles are generally lower than coastal states but competitive regionally. Food scientists and quality managers in Memphis and Nashville command higher wages due to major corporate presence. Rural manufacturing locations may offer lower prevailing wages but have less competition. University partnerships with UT Knoxville's food science program create pathways for international graduates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored food & beverage jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
