Which cybersecurity companies sponsor Green Card visas in Tennessee?
Tennessee's largest Green Card sponsors in cybersecurity include federal contractors, major healthcare systems, and financial services firms. HCA Healthcare, Bridgestone Americas, and regional defense contractors in the Oak Ridge and Nashville corridors have documented PERM labor certification filings for cybersecurity roles. Managed security service providers operating in Memphis and Knoxville also sponsor, though filing frequency varies by employer size and hiring volume.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most cybersecurity Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads Tennessee in cybersecurity Green Card sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of healthcare IT, financial services, and corporate headquarters. Knoxville is notable for proximity to Oak Ridge National Laboratory and federal contractor networks, where security clearance-eligible roles frequently appear. Memphis contributes through logistics-sector IT departments and regional financial institutions. Smaller volumes of sponsorship activity occur in Chattanooga, which has invested in municipal broadband and attracts technology employers.
What types of cybersecurity roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Tennessee?
Roles that Tennessee employers most commonly sponsor through the PERM process include information security analysts, network security engineers, cloud security architects, penetration testers, and security operations center leads. These positions generally require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a directly related field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard that supports both employment-based visa and Green Card eligibility. Roles tied to federal contracts may additionally require security clearance eligibility.
How do I find cybersecurity Green Card sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters cybersecurity jobs in Tennessee specifically by Green Card sponsorship history, pulling from DOL PERM labor certification data so you can see which employers have actually filed for sponsored roles rather than relying on self-reported job postings. Search by city, role type, or employer to surface verified sponsorship activity across Nashville, Knoxville, and Memphis. This data-driven approach saves time compared to manually screening postings that may not reflect an employer's actual sponsorship willingness.
Are there state-specific considerations for cybersecurity Green Card sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee does not impose state-level immigration requirements on employers, but the state's large federal contractor presence introduces a practical factor: many cybersecurity roles tied to Department of Energy or Department of Defense work at sites like Oak Ridge require U.S. citizenship or active clearance eligibility, which can limit Green Card-track sponsorship for those specific positions. Commercial-sector employers in healthcare IT, fintech, and managed services face no such restriction and represent the more accessible sponsorship pathway for internationally sponsored candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card cybersecurity jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
