Which transportation companies sponsor Green Card visas in Tennessee?
FedEx, headquartered in Memphis, is one of the most active Green Card sponsors in Tennessee's transportation sector. Other notable employers include Schneider National, which has operations in the region, along with major automotive logistics companies tied to the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga and Nissan's operations near Nashville. Third-party logistics providers and freight brokerage firms operating along the I-40 and I-75 corridors also file Green Card petitions for specialized roles.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most transportation Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Memphis leads by a wide margin, driven by its position as a global freight and logistics hub and the presence of FedEx's world headquarters. Nashville follows, with growing demand in supply chain management, fleet operations, and transportation planning tied to its rapid economic expansion. Chattanooga is significant for automotive logistics, while Knoxville and the I-40 corridor support trucking and freight distribution roles that occasionally come with sponsorship.
What types of transportation roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Tennessee?
Green Card sponsorship in Tennessee's transportation industry tends to concentrate in roles requiring specialized education or technical expertise. Supply chain analysts, logistics engineers, transportation planners, and operations managers with relevant degrees are among the most commonly sponsored positions. Roles in fleet management technology, freight systems, and international logistics coordination also appear regularly in PERM labor certification filings, as employers demonstrate these positions require qualifications not readily available in the local workforce.
How do I find transportation Green Card sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate aggregates transportation jobs in Tennessee that include Green Card sponsorship, filtering out roles where employers have no demonstrated history of sponsoring permanent residence. You can search specifically by visa type and industry to surface supply chain, logistics, and freight positions from Memphis-area freight companies, Nashville-based distribution employers, and automotive logistics firms near Chattanooga. Migrate Mate's filters save significant time compared to manually researching employer sponsorship histories.
Are there any Tennessee-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in transportation?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects compensation structures at some employers but does not directly impact the Green Card PERM process. More relevant is that Memphis functions as a major logistics hub with high freight volume, meaning transportation employers there often have established immigration programs and legal teams familiar with PERM filings. The automotive manufacturing corridor from Chattanooga to Smyrna also creates consistent demand for international supply chain professionals, though sponsorship availability varies by employer size and role.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card transportation jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
