Which medical devices companies sponsor Green Card visas in Tennessee?
Several major medical devices employers with Tennessee operations have a track record of employment-based Green Card sponsorship, including Medtronic, Stryker, Smith+Nephew, and Ortho Clinical Diagnostics. Mid-size contract manufacturers and device testing firms based in Nashville and Memphis have also filed PERM labor certifications for engineering and quality roles. Sponsorship availability varies by company, hiring cycle, and the specific role involved.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most medical devices Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads in medical devices hiring activity, supported by a strong healthcare industry presence and proximity to major hospital systems that drive device demand. Memphis has a concentration of surgical and orthopedic device operations. Knoxville and the Tri-Cities region host manufacturing and R&D facilities tied to the broader Appalachian medtech corridor. Smaller device firms also operate in Brentwood and Franklin, just outside Nashville.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Tennessee?
Roles that commonly appear in PERM filings within the medical devices sector include quality engineers, regulatory affairs specialists, manufacturing engineers, R&D scientists, software engineers working on embedded device systems, and clinical application specialists. Positions requiring a specific bachelor's or advanced degree in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or a life sciences field tend to align well with EB-2 and EB-3 specialty occupation standards.
How do I find medical devices Green Card sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for medical devices jobs with Green Card sponsorship in Tennessee, so you're not sorting through listings that don't match your visa situation. The platform surfaces roles where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness, which is particularly useful in a specialized sector like medical devices where not every open position comes with immigration support. Searching by city within Tennessee can help narrow results further.
Are there any Tennessee-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in the medical devices industry?
Tennessee does not have a state income tax on wages, which affects total compensation discussions but does not change federal Green Card sponsorship requirements. Employers in Tennessee's medical devices sector must still complete PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor, demonstrating no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role. Manufacturing-heavy facilities may have longer PERM timelines due to detailed prevailing wage determinations for specialized production and engineering positions.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card medical devices jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
