Which investment management companies sponsor E-3 visas in Texas?
Several large asset managers and financial services firms with Texas offices have sponsored E-3 visas, including Fidelity Investments (which relocated its brokerage operations to Westlake), Charles Schwab (headquartered in Westlake), and BlackRock. Regional investment firms, family offices concentrated in Dallas and Houston, and private equity shops in Austin also participate in E-3 sponsorship, though willingness varies by firm and role.
Which cities in Texas have the most investment management E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Dallas and Houston are the leading cities. Dallas hosts a dense concentration of asset managers, hedge funds, and private equity firms, particularly in the Uptown and Preston Center corridors. Houston's investment management market is closely tied to its energy sector wealth, with family offices and institutional managers prominent there. Austin is a growing market, especially among fintech-adjacent investment firms, though it remains smaller than Dallas and Houston for traditional asset management roles.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that qualify as specialty occupations and require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field are eligible. In investment management, this commonly includes portfolio analyst, investment analyst, equity research associate, risk analyst, quantitative analyst, and compliance analyst positions. Roles in fund accounting, financial reporting, and investment operations also frequently qualify when a relevant finance, economics, or accounting degree is a stated requirement of the position.
How do I find investment management E-3 sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by E-3 visa type, the investment management industry, and Texas as your target state to see roles where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. Because E-3 sponsorship depends on the specific employer and role, Migrate Mate's filtered results save significant time compared to manually identifying which Texas investment firms have sponsored Australian nationals in the past.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in investment management?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects total compensation comparisons but does not change E-3 eligibility or the sponsorship process itself. One practical note: Texas-based investment firms with operations in multiple states may file the Labor Condition Application under the primary worksite state, so remote or hybrid arrangements should be clarified with the employer and their immigration counsel before the LCA is filed.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 investment management jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
