Which hospitality companies sponsor Green Card visas in Virginia?
Marriott International, headquartered in Bethesda just outside Northern Virginia, has an extensive presence in the state and a documented history of Green Card sponsorship. Hilton, Hyatt, and Interstate Hotels & Resorts also operate multiple Virginia properties and have filed labor certifications for hospitality workers. Independent hotels, resorts in Virginia Beach, and large food service contractors at government facilities near D.C. round out the employer pool.
Which cities in Virginia have the most hospitality Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Northern Virginia, particularly Arlington, Alexandria, Tysons, and McLean, concentrates the highest density of hotel and food service employers due to proximity to Washington, D.C., and Dulles International Airport. Virginia Beach draws sponsoring resort and hotel employers seasonally and year-round. Richmond has an expanding hospitality market driven by tourism and convention business, and Charlottesville sees demand around the University of Virginia and its surrounding wine country.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Virginia?
Employers most commonly sponsor roles in hotel management, executive chef and culinary positions, food and beverage management, housekeeping supervision, and front office leadership. EB-3 covers both skilled workers requiring at least two years of training and unskilled workers for roles like housekeeping attendants. Specialty or executive roles may qualify under EB-2 if the position requires an advanced degree. Each sponsorship requires the employer to complete PERM labor certification before filing.
How do I find hospitality Green Card sponsorship jobs in Virginia?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for this search, letting you filter hospitality jobs in Virginia by Green Card sponsorship so you only see employers who have indicated willingness to sponsor. Given the concentration of major hotel brands in Northern Virginia and resort employers in Virginia Beach, filtering by city alongside visa type helps narrow results meaningfully. Many sponsoring employers post roles without advertising the sponsorship upfront, so a dedicated platform makes the difference.
Are there Virginia-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in hospitality?
Virginia's proximity to Washington, D.C., means many Northern Virginia hotel and food service employers contract with the federal government, which can add compliance layers to hiring international workers. Virginia has no state-level immigration sponsorship program, so all Green Card petitions go through federal PERM and USCIS processes. High turnover in hospitality is a practical concern because a Green Card petition is employer-specific and restarts if you change jobs before the process completes.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card hospitality jobs in Virginia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
