Which healthcare companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in Washington?
Washington's largest health systems, including UW Medicine, Providence Health & Services, MultiCare Health System, Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, and Seattle Children's, have historically hosted F-1 CPT students in research, clinical support, and health informatics roles. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is also a notable option for students in public health or biomedical research programs. CPT eligibility depends on your program's curricular requirements and your school's authorization, not the employer alone.
Which cities in Washington have the most healthcare F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Seattle has the highest concentration, driven by UW Medicine's flagship campuses, major research institutions, and a dense cluster of health technology companies. Tacoma offers opportunities through MultiCare and CHI Franciscan facilities. Bellevue and Redmond have growing health informatics and digital health employers. Spokane, anchored by Providence Sacred Heart and MultiCare Deaconess, is the primary hub for healthcare CPT roles in eastern Washington.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship in Washington?
Roles that directly relate to a student's degree program are the qualifying standard for CPT. In Washington, this commonly includes health informatics analyst positions, clinical research coordinator roles, public health data analyst internships, biostatistics placements, and healthcare administration internships for MBA or MHA students. Roles requiring hands-on clinical licensure, such as nursing or physician work, are generally not available under CPT because state licensure requirements apply independently of visa status.
How do I find healthcare F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type, including F-1 CPT, and by industry, so you can search healthcare roles in Washington without sifting through positions that don't sponsor. Beyond the platform, UW's career center and health sciences departments maintain employer relationships with local health systems that actively recruit CPT students. Confirm CPT authorization with your DSO before applying, as authorization must be in place before you begin any work.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for F-1 CPT sponsorship in healthcare?
Washington's strong research university presence, particularly the University of Washington's health sciences programs, means many local health employers are familiar with CPT requirements and have established internship pipelines. However, Washington's healthcare sector is also highly regulated for any role involving patient contact, and state professional licensing requirements apply regardless of CPT status. Students in clinical programs should coordinate closely with both their DSO and the employer's HR team well before their intended start date.
