Search Healthcare Jobs in WashingtonHealthcare Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
Which healthcare companies sponsor Green Card visas in Washington state?
Washington's largest healthcare Green Card sponsors include UW Medicine, Providence Health and Services, MultiCare Health System, Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, and Seattle Children's Hospital. These systems regularly file PERM labor certifications for nursing, allied health, and clinical specialist positions. Kaiser Permanente and PeaceHealth also have active sponsorship histories across their Washington facilities, particularly for roles with documented shortages in the local labor market.
Which cities in Washington have the most healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and the surrounding Eastside corridor account for the majority of healthcare Green Card sponsorship activity in Washington, driven by the concentration of major academic medical centers and specialty hospitals. Spokane is the second-largest market, with Providence and MultiCare operating significant campuses there. Tacoma, Bellevue, and Olympia also have consistent sponsorship activity, particularly for nursing and rehabilitation therapy roles across regional hospital networks.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Washington?
Registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and clinical laboratory scientists are among the most commonly sponsored roles by Washington health systems. Physicians, surgeons, and advanced practice providers such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants also qualify. Most sponsored positions require a relevant degree and active U.S. licensure. Employers initiate the process through PERM labor certification, which requires demonstrating no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role.
How do I find healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, including Green Card sponsorship in healthcare. You can filter directly by Washington state and the healthcare industry to see roles where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor. This is more efficient than searching general job boards, where sponsorship information is rarely disclosed upfront. Migrate Mate also provides guidance on the sponsorship process to help you understand what to expect from Washington employers.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for healthcare Green Card sponsorship?
Washington requires active state licensure for most clinical roles before you can begin work, which affects Green Card sponsorship timelines since PERM certification and I-140 petitions are typically tied to a specific position. Washington's nursing compact status is limited, so RNs licensed in other states may need to obtain a Washington license separately. Additionally, Washington's high cost of living in the Seattle metro area means employer-sponsored positions there are competitive, and health systems often prioritize candidates who can begin work quickly.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card healthcare jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
