Which aerospace & defense companies sponsor visas in Wyoming?
Major defense contractors operating in Wyoming include Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Raytheon, primarily supporting F.E. Warren Air Force Base operations. These companies typically sponsor H-1B visas for specialized engineering roles in missile systems, cybersecurity, and defense technology. Smaller contractors like SAIC and CACI also maintain Wyoming operations and may sponsor visas for qualified candidates with security clearance eligibility.
How to find aerospace & defense visa sponsorship jobs in Wyoming?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international professionals with visa sponsorship opportunities in Wyoming's aerospace and defense sector. The platform filters jobs specifically by sponsorship availability and location, focusing on roles at F.E. Warren Air Force Base contractors and defense technology companies. Most positions require U.S. security clearance eligibility, which typically requires permanent residency or citizenship, so focus on roles in commercial aerospace or non-classified defense work.
Which visa types are most common for aerospace & defense roles in Wyoming?
H-1B visas dominate Wyoming aerospace and defense sponsorship, particularly for aerospace engineers, systems engineers, and cybersecurity specialists. L-1 visas are common for international defense contractors transferring employees to Wyoming operations. O-1 visas occasionally appear for highly specialized roles in missile defense or space technology. Most classified defense positions require security clearances unavailable to temporary visa holders.
Which cities in Wyoming have the most aerospace & defense sponsorship jobs?
Cheyenne leads Wyoming aerospace and defense employment due to F.E. Warren Air Force Base, hosting most major defense contractors and their visa sponsorship opportunities. Casper offers some aerospace manufacturing and support roles, while Laramie benefits from University of Wyoming research partnerships with defense contractors. The concentration around Cheyenne means most international professionals relocate there for aerospace and defense careers requiring visa sponsorship.
What are the prevailing wage requirements for aerospace & defense roles in Wyoming?
Wyoming's prevailing wages for aerospace and defense positions typically align with national averages due to federal contracting requirements, despite the state's generally lower cost of living. Aerospace engineers and defense technology roles often exceed local wage standards because of specialized skill requirements and security clearance premiums. The Department of Labor sets these wages based on national survey data rather than Wyoming-specific market rates for most technical positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored aerospace & defense jobs in Wyoming?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
