Which sports and recreation companies in Wyoming sponsor H-2B visas?
Wyoming's H-2B visa sports sponsorship activity is concentrated among ski resort operators, national park concessionaires, and whitewater rafting outfitters. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Grand Teton Lodge Company are among the more prominent sponsors. Yellowstone-area recreation operators and dude ranches in the Cody and Dubois corridors also file H-2B petitions for seasonal outdoor recreation staff each year.
Which cities in Wyoming have the most sports H-2B sponsorship jobs?
Jackson is Wyoming's most active H-2B hiring market for sports and recreation roles, driven by its proximity to both Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Cody sees demand tied to Yellowstone gateway tourism and summer adventure outfitters. Smaller pockets of activity exist near Lander and Pinedale, where climbing guide services and fly-fishing operations hire seasonally.
What types of sports roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship in Wyoming?
Roles that qualify are temporary, seasonal, and cannot be filled by sufficient U.S. workers. In Wyoming's sports sector this typically includes ski lift operators, snowmaking technicians, rafting guides, horseback riding wranglers, fly-fishing guides, and outdoor recreation attendants. These positions must align with a defined peak season, and employers must complete DOL labor market testing before filing an H-2B petition with USCIS.
How do I find sports H-2B sponsorship jobs in Wyoming?
Migrate Mate aggregates verified H-2B sponsorship jobs in Wyoming's sports and recreation sector, filtering listings by visa type so you only see employers with confirmed H-2B filing history. You can narrow results to Wyoming and the sports category to identify active sponsors. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to employers who may not be set up to sponsor nonimmigrant workers.
Are there any Wyoming-specific considerations for H-2B sports sponsorship I should know about?
Wyoming's H-2B sports hiring is tightly tied to two distinct seasons: a winter ski season centered on Jackson Hole and a summer outdoor recreation season spanning national park gateway towns. Employers must file petitions well in advance of each season's start date, and the H-2B cap can affect availability of visas. Workers should confirm their employer has secured cap-subject or returning-worker-exempt allocation before making travel plans.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B sports jobs in Wyoming?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
