About the Role

The Accountant plays a key role in supporting Peblla’s U.S. financial operations and keeping the office running smoothly. We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable individual with hands-on U.S. accounting experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Professional proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is required to communicate effectively with colleagues and business partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end close, including accruals, reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports.
• Process vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements, ensuring accurate documentation and appropriate approvals.
• Coordinate payroll processing with internal stakeholders and external payroll providers.
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation for tax filings, audits, and other reporting requirements.
• Work with external CPAs and tax advisors to support applicable U.S. federal, state, and local filings.
• Monitor cash balances and upcoming payment obligations, and provide timely updates to management.
• Help improve accounting procedures, expense policies, and internal controls.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience, including hands-on experience with U.S. accounting operations.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and standard bookkeeping and month-end close procedures.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.
• Professional working proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese, including spoken Mandarin, to support day-to-day communication with Chinese-speaking colleagues and business partners.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential financial and employee information.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and follow through on deadlines.
• Willingness to take ownership of routine office administration alongside core accounting responsibilities.
