We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to manage day-to-day accounts payable, expense coding, vendor setup, purchasing support, bill payment, and customer invoicing. The role ensures financial transactions are entered accurately and on time while supporting our government contracting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Code and enter expenses, vendor invoices, and financial transactions into the accounting system
- Process approved purchase requests, issue purchase orders, and track orders through receipt
- Add and maintain vendor records in the system (including required documentation)
- Review, match, and process bills for payment (ACH, check, wire)
- Support preparation and submission of customer invoices
- Maintain organized, audit-ready records and support month-end activities
- Follow internal controls and assist with other finance tasks as needed in a small-team setting
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or related accounting work
- Experience with expense coding to projects/contracts is a plus
- Government contracting or defense industry experience preferred
- Proficiency with accounting systems (Deltek Costpoint experience a plus) and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- U.S. citizenship required; clearance eligibility is a plus
Pay: $55,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
