Administrative Assistant Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a administrative assistant job in Jacksonville?
Start by targeting Jacksonville's busiest hiring sectors: healthcare systems along the Southside and Riverside corridors, financial services firms Downtown, and the city's large military and government employer base at NAS Jacksonville and related agencies. Tailoring your resume to show calendar management, office software proficiency, and multi-department coordination gives you an edge, since Jacksonville employers in these sectors consistently prioritize those skills over generalist experience.
Which companies hire administrative assistants in Jacksonville?
Employers hiring administrative assistants in Jacksonville right now include Marshall Dennehey, HDR, and Hyatt, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's mix of large hospital networks, regional insurance and financial firms, defense contractors, and municipal agencies means steady, year-round openings across a wide range of office environments.
Are there remote administrative assistant jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role. Administrative assistant work tied to on-site operations, reception, or executive support is mostly in-person, while roles focused on scheduling, data entry, and correspondence coordination are more likely to be remote. About 0% of administrative assistant openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and the financial services and insurance sectors based in Southside and Downtown tend to offer the most flexible arrangements.
How can I get a administrative assistant job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is through temp-to-hire roles with staffing agencies that place heavily across Southside and the Downtown core, since local healthcare systems and government contractors regularly bring on entry-level office staff that way. Front desk coordinator and office assistant positions at Jacksonville's medical practices and regional insurance offices also serve as common starting points, and completing a basic office software certification before applying noticeably strengthens applications in this market.
Which industries hire the most administrative assistants in Jacksonville?
Most administrative assistant openings in Jacksonville sit in Construction & Real Estate, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's status as a regional hub for healthcare delivery, financial and insurance services, and federal defense operations creates consistent, high-volume demand for administrative support across all three sectors.
