New Ulm Medical Center is a nonprofit hospital and clinic serving the region in and around Brown County located in south central Minnesota. We offer an extensive range of care options with over 70 affiliated physicians and NP/PA providers and a full complement of visiting specialists.
Key Position Details:
We are looking to add a Dermatology Advanced Practice Provider to our growing practice in New Ulm Minnesota.
This position will be a .8 FTE with room to increase as the practice grows.
Job Description:
Principle Responsibilities
- Provides clinical care for patients
- Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
- Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
- Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
- Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
- Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
- Refers for specialty care when determined.
- Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
- Participates in health care team
- Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
- Acts as resource to members of the team.
- Works with primary care team for program development.
- Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.
- Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree - Completion of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
New grads will be considered with experience or a rotation completed in Dermatology.
Licenses/Certifications
- Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
- ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days
- Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) required upon hire
Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire
