Asset Management Analyst Jobs in North Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an asset management analyst in North Carolina?
Most asset management analyst roles in North Carolina require a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field. For roles involving securities advice or transactions, the FINRA Series 65 (Investment Adviser Representative) or Series 7 license is commonly required, with registration coordinated through the North Carolina Secretary of State Securities Division. Pursuing the CFA designation strengthens candidacy significantly, particularly for positions at Charlotte's large financial institutions and regional investment advisers.
How much do asset management analysts make in North Carolina?
Asset management analysts in North Carolina earn a median of about $102,390 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $61,670 for the lowest 10% to over $167,250 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire asset management analysts in North Carolina?
Employers hiring asset management analysts in North Carolina right now include Truist, Siemens, and U.S. Bank, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of October 2026. North Carolina's concentration of major bank holding companies, insurance firms, and real estate investment trusts in Charlotte and Raleigh means demand is spread across both large institutional employers and regional boutique investment managers.
Which North Carolina cities have the most asset management analyst jobs?
Charlotte, Raleigh, and Wilmington account for the most asset management analyst openings in North Carolina. Charlotte dominates because it is home to the headquarters and major operations of several of the largest U.S. banks and investment firms, while Raleigh's growth as a corporate hub and Greensboro's concentration of insurance and financial services companies sustain steady hiring in those markets.
Are there remote asset management analyst jobs in North Carolina?
Yes, and they are more common than in many fields, since the work is primarily analytical and desk-based. About 100% of asset management analyst openings tied to North Carolina are remote or hybrid as of October 2026, reflecting the role's compatibility with distributed work. Portfolio monitoring, financial modeling, and reporting functions are the most frequently offered in remote or hybrid formats, while client-facing and trading desk roles typically require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as an asset management analyst in North Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a finance or banking rotational program at one of Charlotte's large financial institutions, where new graduates rotate across asset management, credit analysis, and treasury functions before specializing. Adjacent roles such as financial analyst, credit analyst, or fund accounting associate at North Carolina-based investment managers or bank trust departments provide a direct bridge. Completing the first level of the CFA exam and building an Excel-based portfolio analysis sample significantly improves candidacy for candidates without direct experience.
