The Advanced Products and Capabilities team within Advertising Products and Solutions is looking for a Product Manager, Workflow Automation, to help us deeply understand how Ad Sales operates today—and to reimagine how it should operate tomorrow. This role sits at the intersection of business process, automation, and AI, with a mandate to modernize and streamline how our internal teams and external partners transact with our company. This role will work across all business groups to organize, shape, and evangelize the automation work (including AI) taking place across the product organization, with a goal to identify duplication, surface synergies, and drive cross-team collaboration.
The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative product manager who is passionate about media, ad technology, and automation, and who brings strong product execution skills, stakeholder communication abilities, technical fluency, and a willingness to take ownership where needed.
Responsibilities
- Become a deep expert in NBCU’s Ad Sales landscape & processes, understanding end-to-end workflows across all lines of business, systems, and teams, identifying pain points, inefficiencies, and manual steps
- Support and execute automation strategies that improve NBCU Ad Sales operations, through system-to-system integrations, workflow automation, and AI-enabled solutions
- Partner closely with Sales, Strategy, Planning, Ad Operations, Insights & Measurement, Product, and Data teams to define requirements and align on thoughtful solutions
- Own and manage a centralized intake process for automation opportunities, tracking requests, dependencies (e.g., system access, cyber approval), and prioritization across teams
- Drive alignment across teams to ensure automated workflows integrate cleanly across the broader ecosystem
- Generate and own cross-functional Automation/AI roadmaps in collaboration with all business groups and identify synergies across teams to increase value return
- Ensure automation improves the business experience by reducing friction in how we transact, communicate, and execute
- Drive visibility into automation initiatives to leadership and the business at large, providing clear updates, progress tracking and visibility into risks, dependencies and impact
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Ad Technology and the application of AI within advertising workflows
- Support change management efforts, including training, documentation, and rollout planning to drive adoption of new automation workflows
- Partner with third-party vendors on workflow development, platform updates, and issue resolution
- Create vendor engagement frameworks to evaluate and onboard new automation and AI solutions
- Track insights and contribute to KPI development to evaluate and optimize existing product capabilities
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in product management within the advertising, streaming, or data-driven media ecosystem, ad tech, or AI space, with exposure to automation-driven solutions
- Experience owning product workflows in cross-functional environments, including defining and delivering system-to-system integrations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and drive alignment across business, product and technical teams
- Impact driven, with a focus on delivering measurable efficiency gains and scaling solutions across teams
- Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholder teams to deliver advertising or media products
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into product requirements
- Ability to operate independently, take initiative, and own workstreams in ambiguous or fast-moving areas
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, including intake management, prioritization and roadmap tracking
- Comfort working with technical concepts (e.g. APIs, data pipelines, system integrations, metadata systems, agile development practices)
- Proficiency in Excel and JIRA, with knowledge of AI tools to support workflow analysis, documentation, and productivity
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with NBCU’s portfolio, streaming products, and advertising capabilities
- Knowledge of digital ad serving, streaming ad tech, and data-targeted advertising mechanics, including pitch to pay workflows
- Experience working with workflow automation platforms, low-code/no-code tools, AI-enabled solutions, or operational tooling within media or ad tech systems
- Exposure to system onboarding, access models (e.g. SSO, APIs) and cyber security approval processes

Automation Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a automation in New York?
Most automation roles in New York are entered through a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or a closely related field, with no single state-issued license required for the role itself. Candidates who pursue credentials such as the Certified Automation Professional designation from the International Society of Automation strengthen their standing considerably. New York employers, particularly in manufacturing and life sciences, look for hands-on lab or internship experience alongside the degree.
Which companies hire automations in New York?
Employers hiring automations in New York right now include E-Technologies Group, Fairlife, and AutoNation, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's concentration of advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, and financial technology firms creates consistent year-round demand for automation professionals at multiple experience levels.
Which New York cities have the most automation jobs?
The cities with the most automation openings in New York are New York, Albany, and Buffalo. New York City leads because of its dense financial technology and life sciences sectors, while Buffalo's longstanding advanced manufacturing base and Albany's semiconductor and government-adjacent research facilities drive steady hiring outside the metro area.
Are there remote automation jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're limited. Automation work often requires on-site access to equipment, production lines, or control systems, so fully remote roles are less common than in purely software-focused fields. About 30% of automation openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with remote options most often available for RPA developers, systems architects, and roles focused on software configuration rather than physical installation.
How can I get hired as a automation in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an associate-level technician or junior engineer role, which large New York employers in manufacturing and utilities regularly fill with recent graduates. Companies with New York operations in sectors like food production, pharmaceuticals, and utilities often run structured rotational or co-op programs. Moving laterally from an electrical technician, controls technician, or IT support role is also a recognized path. Earning a foundational PLC programming certification before applying gives candidates a clear edge in screening.
Where can I find and apply to automation jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to automation jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
