Client Advisor Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a client advisor in Maryland?
Most client advisor roles in Maryland require FINRA licensing, typically a Series 7 for securities transactions and a Series 66 to act as an investment adviser representative in the state. Maryland-based advisers register with the Maryland Securities Division under the Office of the Attorney General. A bachelor's degree in finance or a related field is the standard entry point, and many employers sponsor candidates for exams during onboarding.
Which companies hire client advisors in Maryland?
Companies currently hiring client advisors in Maryland include JPMorganChase, Trucordia, and Bank of America, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Maryland's concentration of asset managers, regional banks, and federal-contractor financial services firms means consistent year-round openings for client-facing advisory roles.
Which Maryland cities have the most client advisor jobs?
Baltimore, Bethesda, and Columbia lead Maryland for client advisor openings. Baltimore anchors the market through its large regional banks and investment firms, Bethesda draws demand from the wealth management and private equity firms clustered along the I-270 corridor, and Annapolis generates steady openings tied to state government employee financial planning and community banking.
Are there remote client advisor jobs in Maryland?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely desk-based fields because client advisor work is relationship-driven and often requires in-person meetings. About 25% of client advisor openings tied to Maryland are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. Portfolio review calls and financial planning sessions are the tasks most frequently handled remotely when employers do offer flexible arrangements.
How can I get hired as a client advisor in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a financial services associate or client service representative role, which large Maryland employers like T. Rowe Price and M&T Bank use as direct pipelines into advisory positions. Completing your Series 7 exam before applying gives candidates a concrete edge even without a full advisory background. Lateral moves from teller, operations analyst, or customer success roles at Maryland-based banks and credit unions are another common route into the profession.
Where can I find and apply to client advisor jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to client advisor jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Maryland employers. Find the roles that fit your experience and apply directly through each listing.
