Client Associate Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a client associate in Massachusetts?
Most client associate roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or economics, combined with FINRA licensing. Employers typically expect candidates to hold or obtain a Series 7 and Series 63 license, both administered through FINRA and requiring a sponsoring employer. Massachusetts does not impose a separate state-level securities registration beyond federal FINRA requirements, so obtaining employer-sponsored FINRA credentials is the concrete first step toward qualifying for most positions.
Which companies hire client associates in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring client associates in Massachusetts right now include Bank of America, RBC, and UBS, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's deep concentration of asset managers, regional banks, and independent advisory firms means consistent demand across both large institutions and boutique wealth management practices throughout the Greater Boston area.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most client associate jobs?
Boston, Cambridge, and Framingham account for the largest share of client associate openings in Massachusetts. Boston drives the majority of postings given its status as one of the country's leading financial services centers, home to major asset managers and brokerage operations, while Worcester and Cambridge contribute openings tied to regional banks, university-affiliated endowment offices, and growing fintech and advisory firms.
Are there remote client associate jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely analytical roles, since client associate work often involves direct advisor support and in-office client interaction. About 60% of client associate openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with hybrid arrangements more prevalent than fully remote. The portions of the role most suited to remote work include client communication, account documentation, and CRM management.
How can I get hired as a client associate in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to financial services firms that run structured associate or new-graduate programs. Fidelity Investments and State Street both offer formal entry-level programs in Massachusetts that train candidates without prior industry experience. Lateral moves from adjacent roles such as bank teller, customer service representative, or operations analyst are common entry points. Completing a FINRA Series 63 exam before applying, even without a sponsor, signals commitment and gives candidates a meaningful edge in Massachusetts hiring.
Where can I find and apply to client associate jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to client associate jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and target location, then apply directly to the positions that fit.
