Senior Customer Success Engineer Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior customer success engineer in Massachusetts?
The most direct path is building a foundation in technical support, solutions engineering, or software implementation before moving into customer success. Massachusetts employers, especially in the Boston-area SaaS and life sciences software markets, typically expect a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline alongside several years of hands-on customer-facing experience. There is no state-issued license for this role in Massachusetts, but certifications from Gainsight, Salesforce, or AWS carry real weight with hiring managers here.
How much do senior customer success engineers make in Massachusetts?
Senior customer success engineers in Massachusetts earn a median of about $136,200 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $77,490 for the lowest 10% to over $177,100 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior customer success engineers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring senior customer success engineers in Massachusetts right now include Hi Marley, ServiceNow, and CYVL, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's dense cluster of SaaS, cybersecurity, and healthcare technology firms means demand for this role is spread across both established public companies and well-funded growth-stage startups.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most senior customer success engineer jobs?
Boston, Waltham, and Cambridge have the most senior customer success engineer openings in Massachusetts. Boston and Cambridge drive the majority of postings through their high concentration of enterprise software, biotech SaaS, and fintech companies, while Waltham functions as a secondary hub because many regional headquarters and mid-market technology firms are based along Route 128.
Are there remote senior customer success engineer jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 76% of senior customer success engineer openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how naturally this desk-based, communication-driven role translates to distributed work. The portions of the role focused on onboarding calls, product training, and QBR preparation are most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a senior customer success engineer in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a technical support or junior solutions engineer role at one of the many SaaS companies based in Boston or along Route 128. Employers like HubSpot and Rapid7 run structured associate programs and rotational tracks that move strong performers into customer success. Building a portfolio of implementation projects or earning a recognized platform certification, such as Salesforce Administrator or Gainsight Level 1, gives candidates a concrete edge when applying for those entry roles.
Where can I find and apply to senior customer success engineer jobs in Massachusetts?
