Clinical Assistant Professor Jobs in Oklahoma: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical assistant professor in Oklahoma?
The concrete path starts with a terminal clinical degree, such as an MD, DO, DNP, PharmD, or equivalent doctorate, followed by obtaining the appropriate Oklahoma professional license through the relevant state board, for example the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision or the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing. Most Oklahoma universities then require demonstrated clinical practice experience before hiring at the assistant professor level, along with evidence of teaching or mentorship.
Which companies hire clinical assistant professors in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma clinical assistant professor roles are posted by Oklahoma State University and Northeastern State University and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oklahoma's academic medical centers and health sciences universities drive the majority of postings, particularly institutions with affiliated teaching hospitals in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
Which Oklahoma cities have the most clinical assistant professor jobs?
Stillwater, Tulsa, and Muskogee have the most clinical assistant professor openings in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City dominates because of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and several large affiliated hospital systems, while Tulsa's openings are anchored by Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences and its network of clinical training sites across northeastern Oklahoma.
Are there remote clinical assistant professor jobs in Oklahoma?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of clinical assistant professor openings tied to Oklahoma are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the hands-on nature of most clinical faculty roles. The portions of the role most suited to remote work are didactic course instruction, curriculum development, and dissertation advising, rather than simulation lab supervision or direct patient-care teaching.
How can I get hired as a clinical assistant professor in Oklahoma with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is adjunct or part-time clinical instruction, which large Oklahoma health sciences programs routinely use to evaluate candidates before offering full-time appointments. Applicants without prior faculty experience should apply for clinical preceptor or adjunct roles at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center or Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences, then build a teaching portfolio through those positions. Active licensure in good standing and any relevant board certification give candidates a meaningful edge when competing for first faculty appointments.
Where can I find and apply to clinical assistant professor jobs in Oklahoma?
You can find and apply to clinical assistant professor jobs in Oklahoma on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oklahoma openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your discipline and experience level and apply directly to the institutions posting them.
