Clinical Project Manager Jobs in North Dakota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical project manager in North Dakota?
Most clinical project managers in North Dakota enter the field with a bachelor's degree in nursing, life sciences, public health, or a related discipline, then build experience in clinical research coordination or healthcare operations. North Dakota does not require a state-issued license specific to clinical project management, but employers strongly favor candidates who hold certifications such as the CCRP through the Society of Clinical Research Associates. Starting as a clinical research coordinator at a health system like Sanford Health or Essentia Health is the most direct path.
How much do clinical project managers make in North Dakota?
Clinical project managers in North Dakota earn a median of about $96,160 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,300 for the lowest 10% to over $139,320 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire clinical project managers in North Dakota?
Employers hiring clinical project managers in North Dakota right now include Sanford Health, CommonSpirit Health, and Eventide, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. North Dakota's largest integrated health systems and academic medical affiliates account for the majority of openings, particularly for roles tied to sponsored research and quality improvement programs.
Which North Dakota cities have the most clinical project manager jobs?
The cities with the most clinical project manager openings in North Dakota are Fargo, Bismarck, and Minot. Fargo leads because it anchors Sanford Health's regional operations and is home to research programs affiliated with North Dakota State University, while Bismarck and Grand Forks follow due to their major hospital systems and growing outpatient and research infrastructure.
Are there remote clinical project manager jobs in North Dakota?
Yes, and they are more common than in many clinical roles because project management work centers on coordination, documentation, and oversight rather than hands-on patient care. About 8% of clinical project manager openings tied to North Dakota are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of the work. Sponsor-side and CRO-affiliated roles tend to offer the most flexibility, while site-based positions at health systems typically require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a clinical project manager in North Dakota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a clinical research coordinator role at one of North Dakota's major health systems, where you gain hands-on trial management experience before moving into project oversight. Sanford Health and Essentia Health both post coordinator-level openings that serve as structured entry points into clinical research. A background in nursing, medical billing, or healthcare administration also creates lateral pathways. Earning the CCRC credential early signals commitment and gives candidates without direct trial experience a concrete advantage when applying.
Where can I find and apply to clinical project manager jobs in North Dakota?
You can find and apply to clinical project manager jobs in North Dakota on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
