You then apply for licensure through the State of Ohio Psychology Board, passing the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology. Ohio also requires a jurisprudence component covering state-specific ethics and law before a license is granted.
Which companies hire clinical psychologists in Ohio?

Ohio's mix of large integrated health systems, community mental health centers, and university-affiliated training clinics means openings appear across both urban campuses and outpatient networks statewide.
Which Ohio cities have the most clinical psychologist jobs?

Columbus leads because of its dense concentration of OhioHealth and Nationwide Children's Hospital facilities, Cleveland draws demand through the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals networks, and Cincinnati's market is anchored by Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and TriHealth, with additional openings in suburban communities surrounding each metro.

Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since many clinical psychology roles involve in-person assessment and hands-on therapeutic work. About 33% of clinical psychologist openings tied to Ohio are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. Telehealth therapy positions and remote psychological assessment roles are the segments most likely to offer fully remote arrangements.

Candidates can also pursue associate psychologist or psychological examiner roles that allow supervised practice under a licensed psychologist. Completing an APA-accredited internship in Ohio and holding provisional licensure from the State of Ohio Psychology Board gives applicants a meaningful edge when competing for these positions.
