ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Operations and Clinical Managers, the Molecular Supervisor provides leadership to the team and oversees the daily operation of the molecular microbiology and molecular genomic testing and support services. This specific laboratory division is part of the precision diagnostics initiatives with potential growth and operating with cutting edge technology. The ideal candidate will demonstrate good communication, team-working spirit, and problem solving skills. Applicant with molecular /NGS skills and progressive management experience preferred.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintains effective workflow and operations. Acts as an expert resource within an area of specialty.
- Drives Quality Improvement initiatives and seeks ways to improve performance and service.
- Recommends and prepares Standard Operating Procedures for designated area and provides training in the area of expertise.
- Oversees scheduling and payroll. Maintains timely and effective communication and feedback to managers and employees.
- Performs and submits to Human Resources all performance assessment documentation on time so that employee morale is maintained at a high level.
- Has the authority to direct and support employees daily work activities. Has the direct responsibility to undertake the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews.
- Assists in planning, monitoring and/or managing budget in functional area of department.
- Direct Reports: 4-6; Indirect Reports: None.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology or Biological Science required.
Required Work Experience: 5 or more year’s full time experience required.
License/Registration/Certification: ASCP certified generalist or categorical Technologist or equivalent accreditation required.
Other: Demonstrates autonomy, critical thinking skills and has skillset required to oversee shift operations. Capability and capacity to lead multiple projects and assist with staffing needs under the direction of department leadership. Experience and high proficiency with computers required. Web based application experience, Microsoft applications including excel experience required.

Team Work: Ability to lead collaborative teams for larger projects or groups both internal and external to the Medical Center and across functional areas. Results have implications for the management and operations of multiple areas of the organization.

Customer Service: Ability to lead operational initiatives to meet or exceed customer service standards and expectations in assigned unit(s) and/or across multiple areas in a timely and respectful manner.
PHYSICAL NATURE OF THE JOB
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Job is physical in nature and employee needs to stand and/or move around through the majority of their shift.
PAY RANGE
$100,000.00 USD – $135,000.00 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
