Clinical Supervisor Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical supervisor in Pennsylvania?
Most clinical supervisor roles in Pennsylvania require a master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology plus an active Pennsylvania state license such as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT issued by the State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors. After licensure, employers typically expect post-license clinical experience before considering candidates for supervisory positions. Supervisors in behavioral health settings may also need Pennsylvania-specific certifications aligned with Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services standards.
Which companies hire clinical supervisors in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring clinical supervisors in Pennsylvania right now include WellSpan Health, Allegheny Health Network, and Aveanna Healthcare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Pennsylvania's dense network of hospital systems, community behavioral health centers, and residential treatment providers means consistent openings across both large integrated health systems and specialized nonprofits throughout the state.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most clinical supervisor jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Sayre have the most clinical supervisor openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia anchors demand through its concentration of academic medical centers, behavioral health networks, and social services agencies, while Pittsburgh's large hospital systems and Allegheny County human services programs drive hiring in the west, and Harrisburg reflects state government-affiliated behavioral health and child welfare positions in the capital region.
Are there remote clinical supervisor jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, but they're limited. About 38% of clinical supervisor openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting that most supervision requires direct observation, in-person case review, or regulatory compliance with site-based documentation. Administrative supervision, telehealth program oversight, and quality assurance roles are the areas most likely to offer a fully remote or hybrid arrangement.
How can I get hired as a clinical supervisor in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving into a senior clinician or lead therapist role first, then stepping into supervisory responsibilities from there. Large Pennsylvania employers like WellSpan Health, Gaudenzia, and Merakey run structured clinical training programs and promote from within. Pursuing an LCSW or LPC through Pennsylvania's supervised clinical hours requirement builds the documented experience hiring managers want. Candidates who add a Pennsylvania state certification in supervisory practices gain a measurable edge over those with the same hours but no credential.
Where can I find and apply to clinical supervisor jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to clinical supervisor jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find roles that match your license, specialty, and preferred location, and apply directly to each employer through the posting.
