Commercial Account Executive Jobs in New Mexico: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a commercial account executive in New Mexico?
The path depends on the industry. For commercial insurance roles, you must hold a valid New Mexico Property and Casualty or similar insurance producer license, issued through the New Mexico Office of Superintendent of Insurance after passing the relevant state exam. For technology, energy, or general B2B sales roles, no state license is required, but most employers expect a bachelor's degree and prior sales or account management experience. Building familiarity with New Mexico's government contracting and energy sectors opens additional doors.
How much do commercial account executives make in New Mexico?
Commercial account executives in New Mexico earn a median of about $61,320 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $37,010 for the lowest 10% to over $115,060 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire commercial account executives in New Mexico?
New Mexico commercial account executive roles are posted by HUB International, AutoZone, and Verdes Cannabis and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. New Mexico's mix of federal contracting, technology, and insurance activity means openings appear across a range of company sizes, from large national carriers to regional firms serving the state's government and energy sectors.
Which New Mexico cities have the most commercial account executive jobs?
Albuquerque, Hobbs, and Roswell lead New Mexico for commercial account executive openings. Albuquerque drives the largest share because it is the state's primary business hub and home to the headquarters or major regional offices of technology, insurance, and healthcare companies. Santa Fe generates roles tied to government services and professional accounts, while Las Cruces reflects growing commercial activity in the southern part of the state.
Are there remote commercial account executive jobs in New Mexico?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 33% of commercial account executive openings tied to New Mexico are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and relationship-driven nature of the role. Client-facing responsibilities such as on-site presentations or local territory coverage may still require periodic travel, but prospecting, pipeline management, and internal coordination are commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a commercial account executive in New Mexico with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a sales development representative or inside sales role at a technology or insurance firm in Albuquerque, where companies like Lumen Technologies and regional insurance agencies regularly bring on candidates new to commercial sales. Completing the New Mexico insurance producer exam positions you for entry-level roles at agencies without requiring prior experience. Adjacent roles such as account coordinator, customer success associate, or territory support representative also provide a direct path into commercial account management over one to two years.
Where can I find and apply to commercial account executive jobs in New Mexico?
You can find and apply to commercial account executive jobs in New Mexico on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state right now. Search the listings, identify the roles that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit your experience and preferred location or work arrangement.
