Community Manager Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a community manager job in Houston?
Target Houston's strongest hiring sectors: residential real estate, property management, healthcare systems, and the city's growing tech and coworking scene. Roles cluster in Midtown, the Galleria corridor, and master-planned communities like The Woodlands and Sugar Land. Candidates who can demonstrate experience managing online communities or resident relations alongside in-person programming stand out most in this market.
Which companies hire community managers in Houston?
Houston community manager roles are posted by Asset Living, Associa, and RPM Living and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Houston's mix of large property management firms, hospital networks, energy companies, and fast-growing residential developments means openings come from a wide range of employer types.
Are there remote community manager jobs in Houston?
Yes, though it depends on the type of role. Community manager positions tied to physical properties or residential communities are nearly always on-site, while brand, social media, and SaaS-focused roles run remote far more often. About 12% of community manager openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the highest remote share in tech and marketing-focused roles.
How can I get a community manager job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is through leasing consultant or resident services coordinator roles at the city's large apartment and mixed-use property operators, which commonly promote into community manager positions. Volunteering with Houston-area neighborhood associations, HOAs, or nonprofit community programs also builds relevant experience. Familiarity with platforms used in property management or customer engagement gives early-career candidates a concrete edge.
Which industries hire the most community managers in Houston?
Most community manager openings in Houston sit in Distribution & Wholesale, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Houston's scale as a major medical hub, its dense residential development market, and its concentration of energy and professional services firms all drive consistent demand for community-facing roles across these sectors.
