Target roles that align with sponsored visa types

Apply early in the academic hiring cycle
Health sciences universities like A T Still typically hire on an academic calendar. Faculty and research positions are often posted in fall and winter for the following year, so timing your application early improves your chances of securing sponsorship.
Highlight advanced credentials in your field
For H-1B sponsorship at a health sciences university, demonstrating specialty-level qualifications, doctoral degrees, clinical certifications, or research expertise, directly supports the specialty occupation requirement USCIS evaluates in every petition.
Express openness to Green Card sponsorship early
A T Still University has pursued employment-based Green Card sponsorship for select roles. If long-term residency is your goal, raise this during later-stage interviews to confirm whether the department budget and HR policies support EB-2 or EB-3 pathways.
Focus on departments with ongoing hiring needs
Research, health informatics, anatomy, and osteopathic medicine departments at health sciences universities tend to have recurring specialty hiring needs, making them more likely to pursue visa sponsorship for qualified international candidates than administrative divisions.
