Frame your credentials around industrial sales cycles
Aggreko's Development Managers drive revenue across energy, utilities, and events sectors with long procurement cycles. Translate your experience into measurable outcomes tied to capital equipment, power solutions, or fleet-based services before your first interview.
Target open roles across multiple regions
Aggreko posts Development Manager positions across U.S. regions tied to industrial clusters. Applying broadly increases your chances of landing a role at a site with an active hiring manager who has sponsored international candidates through this function before.
Verify your OPT or CPT authorization aligns with the start date
If you're on F-1 status, confirm your OPT authorization period covers your anticipated start date before accepting an offer. A gap between OPT expiration and H-1B approval can interrupt employment, so coordinate timing with Aggreko's HR team early.
Use Migrate Mate to identify active Development Manager openings
Aggreko's sponsorship activity for this role is documented on Migrate Mate. Browse current Development Manager listings filtered by visa type to confirm which postings are open to sponsored candidates before investing time in the application process.
Clarify the H-1B filing timeline before accepting an offer
H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start under USCIS lottery rules. If you're not cap-exempt, confirm with Aggreko's HR whether they'll file in the upcoming registration window and whether your current status covers the gap.
Prepare a specialty occupation justification for your role
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for sales-adjacent roles like Development Manager. Work with Aggreko's immigration counsel to document how the position requires a specific bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, not just generalist management experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aggreko sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Aggreko has sponsored H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. Sponsorship is employer-initiated, so you'll need a formal offer before Aggreko can file a petition with USCIS. The H-1B process requires demonstrating that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, which for Development Managers typically means a degree requirement in engineering, business development, or a closely related field.
Which visa types are commonly used for Development Manager roles at Aggreko?
Aggreko sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager positions and also accepts candidates on F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for eligible students and recent graduates. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status if the role maps to an eligible USMCA occupation category. The right visa type depends on your citizenship, education, and current immigration status.
What qualifications or experience does Aggreko expect for Development Manager roles?
Aggreko's Development Manager positions in the rental and leasing sector typically require experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management, often with exposure to industrial, energy, or infrastructure markets. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field strengthens both your candidacy and the H-1B specialty occupation argument. Demonstrated ability to manage pipelines and close contracts in capital-intensive environments is highly relevant.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Aggreko?
Browse current Development Manager openings at Aggreko through Migrate Mate, where listings are filtered to show roles open to visa-sponsored candidates. Apply directly through Aggreko's careers portal and clearly indicate your work authorization status and sponsorship needs in your application. Reaching out to regional hiring managers in markets where Aggreko has active industrial operations can also accelerate your candidacy.
How do I time my application if I need H-1B sponsorship from Aggreko?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March, with USCIS selecting registrations before petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, confirm your authorization extends through that window. Initiating conversations with Aggreko's HR team several months before the registration period gives both sides time to align on the filing timeline and supporting documentation.
