Tailor your resume to industrial supply chains
Airgas operates a complex distribution network for industrial gases and chemicals. Highlight experience with hazardous materials handling, fleet coordination, or warehouse management systems, since these align directly with the operational scope of their logistics teams.
Verify your role qualifies as a specialty occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to meet the specialty occupation standard. For logistics, this typically means a degree in supply chain, operations management, or a related field is a formal job requirement, not just a preference listed in the posting.
Ask about sponsorship before the offer stage
Raise visa sponsorship early in conversations with Airgas recruiters, not after receiving an offer. Confirming that the specific logistics role is approved for sponsorship avoids delays once hiring decisions are made and the LCA filing timeline begins.
Understand the LCA filing sequence at chemicals employers
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition reaches USCIS. At large industrial distributors like Airgas, this process routes through HR and legal teams, so build at least four to six weeks of lead time into your start date expectations.
Search open logistics roles using Migrate Mate
Airgas posts logistics openings across multiple distribution hubs and regional facilities. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Airgas logistics positions that are open to visa sponsorship, saving you the time of screening dozens of postings manually.
Position yourself for Green Card eligibility from day one
Airgas has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 permanent residence for logistics professionals. If long-term U.S. residency is your goal, ask during negotiation whether the role is eligible for PERM-based sponsorship and how the company has handled this pathway in practice.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Airgas sponsor H-1B visas for Logistics roles?
Yes, Airgas sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying logistics positions. The role must meet USCIS specialty occupation requirements, which generally means the job requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as supply chain management or operations. Not every logistics posting will qualify, so confirming sponsorship eligibility directly with the recruiter is an important early step.
How do I apply for Logistics jobs at Airgas?
You can apply through Airgas's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which lists Airgas logistics openings filtered for visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, tailor your application to the specific operational context at Airgas, emphasizing any experience with industrial distribution, chemical supply chains, or multi-site logistics coordination, as these align closely with how their logistics teams are structured.
Which visa types does Airgas sponsor for Logistics professionals?
Airgas sponsors both nonimmigrant and immigrant visas for logistics roles. On the nonimmigrant side, H-1B is the primary pathway. For permanent residence, Airgas has used the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card categories, which require PERM labor certification filed with the DOL. The pathway available to you will depend on your role, degree level, and years of experience.
What qualifications does Airgas expect for sponsored Logistics positions?
Sponsored logistics roles at Airgas typically require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business operations, or a closely related field. Practical experience with distribution logistics, inventory control, or transportation management systems is valued. Because Airgas operates in the chemicals and materials sector, familiarity with DOT regulations or hazardous materials compliance can strengthen your application considerably.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take for a Logistics role at Airgas?
The full H-1B process, from LCA filing with the DOL through USCIS petition approval, typically spans three to six months under standard processing. The DOL LCA certification alone takes seven to ten business days in most cases. If you need a faster timeline, ask Airgas whether the role is eligible for USCIS premium processing, which guarantees a decision within 15 business days for an additional government fee.
