Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Mechanical Engineer Jobs at Arcadis Jobs
Align Your Credentials to USCIS Specialty Occupation Standards
Arcadis files H-1B petitions by demonstrating the role requires a degree in a specific engineering discipline. Before applying, confirm your degree title maps directly to mechanical engineering, not a general STEM field, to avoid a Request for Evidence.
Target Arcadis Openings in Infrastructure and Water Sectors
Arcadis concentrates mechanical engineering work in water treatment, buildings, and infrastructure programs. Roles tied to these practice areas tend to have recurring hiring cycles, so filtering your search by business line sharpens your targeting and improves relevance.
Clarify Sponsorship Type During the Offer Stage
Arcadis sponsors multiple visa categories, so ask your recruiter specifically whether the role supports H-1B cap-subject filing or cap-exempt transfer. The answer affects your start date timeline and whether you need to plan around the April lottery window.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Active Mechanical Engineer Openings
Sponsor-confirmed job boards cut out the guesswork of cold outreach. Search Migrate Mate to filter Arcadis mechanical engineering postings by visa type so you only spend time on roles where sponsorship has already been verified.
Prepare Project Portfolios That Reflect Arcadis Client Work
Arcadis operates as a professional services consultancy, so interviewers assess whether your project experience translates to client-facing delivery. Document specific project scopes, your engineering decisions, and measurable outcomes before your technical interviews.
Understand the PERM Timeline If You Have a Green Card Goal
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, Arcadis must complete DOL PERM labor certification before filing your immigrant petition. This process takes 12 to 18 months minimum, so raise long-term sponsorship interest early in the offer negotiation rather than after your start date.

Find Mechanical Engineer at Arcadis JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineers?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineers and has a consistent record of doing so across its infrastructure and environment practice areas. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery for new applicants and also handles cap-exempt transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. Confirm the specifics for your target role with the recruiter during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Mechanical Engineer jobs at Arcadis?
Applications go through the Arcadis careers portal, where you can filter by discipline and location. Tailoring your resume to reflect project delivery experience in Arcadis practice areas like water, buildings, or infrastructure increases your relevance to hiring managers. Migrate Mate lists sponsor-confirmed Arcadis mechanical engineering openings so you can identify active roles and apply directly without uncertainty about whether sponsorship is available.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Mechanical Engineers?
Arcadis sponsors a range of visa categories for Mechanical Engineers, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican engineers, F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning from university programs, J-1 for exchange visitors, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for long-term sponsorship. The right pathway depends on your nationality, current status, and where you are in your career.
What qualifications does Arcadis expect for Mechanical Engineer roles?
Arcadis typically expects a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline for entry-level roles, with advanced degrees or professional engineer licensure valued for senior positions. Practical project experience in HVAC, piping systems, water infrastructure, or building services is frequently referenced in job descriptions. Arcadis operates as a consultancy, so the ability to manage client relationships and deliver on multi-discipline project teams is weighed alongside technical skills.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after receiving an Arcadis offer?
Timeline depends on your visa category. For H-1B cap-subject cases, Arcadis must file in April for an October 1 start date, meaning an offer in early spring could mean a six-month wait. TN and H-1B transfers can move faster, sometimes within weeks. For PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3, the DOL labor certification alone takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS petition filing begins.
