Align your credentials to AutoNation's tech stack
AutoNation's consulting roles frequently involve platforms like Salesforce, SAP, and CDK Global. Certifications in these systems signal direct relevance to their dealership technology operations and strengthen your H-1B specialty occupation case.
Target automotive enterprise consulting during hiring cycles
AutoNation's Professional Services Consultant openings cluster around Q1 and Q3 as operational budgets reset. Filing an H-1B petition requires a start date of October 1, so apply during Q1 to align your offer with the April USCIS registration window.
Clarify sponsorship scope before your final interview round
Ask directly whether the role supports H-1B transfer or new petition filing. AutoNation's HR team handles sponsorship centrally, so confirming this before the offer stage avoids delays when legal review begins.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open consultant roles by visa type
AutoNation posts Professional Services Consultant positions across multiple locations at different seniority levels. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles where sponsorship is confirmed, saving your outreach for positions that match your visa situation.
Document consulting project scope in your resume precisely
USCIS scrutinizes whether Professional Services Consultant roles meet specialty occupation standards. Your resume should name specific systems implemented, client industries served, and measurable project outcomes to support a petition clearly tied to your degree field.
Prepare your I-94 and previous petition records before offer stage
If you're transferring an existing H-1B, AutoNation's legal team will request your full petition history and current I-94. Having these organized in advance shortens the gap between offer acceptance and USCIS filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does AutoNation sponsor H-1B visas for Professional Services Consultants?
Yes, AutoNation sponsors H-1B visas for Professional Services Consultant roles. Sponsorship is handled through the company's centralized HR and legal function rather than at the hiring manager level, so confirming eligibility early in the process is important. Roles tied to enterprise systems implementation and dealership technology typically meet USCIS specialty occupation requirements, which strengthens the petition.
How do I apply for Professional Services Consultant jobs at AutoNation?
Applications go through AutoNation's careers portal, where Professional Services Consultant openings are listed by location and business unit. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse AutoNation's sponsored roles filtered by visa type, which helps you identify positions where international candidates are actively considered before you invest time in the application process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Professional Services Consultant roles at AutoNation?
H-1B is the primary visa category for Professional Services Consultant positions at AutoNation, given the role's reliance on specialized knowledge in enterprise software and consulting methodology. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported, making AutoNation accessible to recent graduates in computer science, information systems, or business disciplines. TN visa status is available for qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible classification categories.
What qualifications does AutoNation expect for Professional Services Consultant candidates?
AutoNation typically expects a bachelor's degree in information systems, business, or a related technical field, combined with hands-on experience deploying or supporting enterprise platforms in multi-site environments. Familiarity with automotive retail operations or dealership management systems is a strong differentiator. Consulting certifications and demonstrated project delivery experience improve both your candidacy and the strength of any H-1B specialty occupation argument.
How do I time my H-1B filing if I receive a Professional Services Consultant offer from AutoNation?
H-1B petitions for cap-subject candidates must be registered with USCIS in March for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer outside that window, AutoNation may consider a cap-exempt transfer if you currently hold H-1B status with another employer, allowing work to begin faster. Your F-1 OPT grace period is 60 days after your program end date, so timing your offer acceptance against that clock matters.
