Verify Your Nursing Credentials Before Applying
Florida requires RN licensure through the Florida Board of Nursing, and BayCare will expect your NCLEX pass and any foreign credential evaluation to be complete before extending an offer. Start the credential verification process early, as international degree evaluations can take several weeks.
Target BayCare's Home Health Division Directly
BayCare operates a dedicated home health division across Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. Filtering your applications to that specific service line, rather than general nursing postings, puts you in front of hiring managers who regularly work with sponsored candidates in field-based roles.
Understand Which Visa Pathway Fits Your Situation
BayCare sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, EB-2, and EB-3 visas for nursing roles. Home health positions typically qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B and as Schedule A shortage occupations under EB-3, which bypasses the standard PERM labor market test.
Ask About PERM Timing During the Offer Stage
For Green Card sponsorship via EB-3, DOL's PERM process requires BayCare to document recruitment efforts before filing. Raise the timeline question during offer negotiations, not after signing, so you understand how long the employer-side process will take before your petition moves forward.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Home Health Nurse Roles
Sponsored home health positions at BayCare don't always surface clearly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified Home Health Nurse openings at BayCare filtered by visa type, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than guessing from the job description.
Align Your OPT or CPT Start Date With BayCare's Hiring Cycle
BayCare's home health division hires on a rolling basis, but onboarding for field nurses includes orientation and system training that can take three to four weeks. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your authorized start date gives enough runway to complete onboarding before your employment authorization clock creates urgency.

Find Home Health Nurse at BayCare Health System JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does BayCare Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Home Health Nurses?
Yes, BayCare Health System sponsors H-1B visas for Home Health Nurses. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in nursing. BayCare's HR and legal teams handle the I-129 petition process, but you'll need an active Florida RN license and a signed offer letter before the filing can begin.
Which visa types are commonly used for Home Health Nurse roles at BayCare Health System?
H-1B and EB-3 are the most common pathways for international nurses at BayCare. The EB-3 is particularly relevant because nursing is a Schedule A shortage occupation, meaning BayCare can file directly with USCIS without going through the standard DOL PERM labor market test. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nurses who meet the relevant criteria. F-1 OPT and J-1 are also sponsored for eligible candidates.
What qualifications and experience does BayCare Health System expect for Home Health Nurse roles?
BayCare typically requires an RN license, a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN), and at least one year of clinical experience, with home health or med-surg background preferred. Home health roles specifically require strong autonomous clinical judgment since you're working in patients' homes without immediate team support. BPH certification and familiarity with electronic health records are commonly listed requirements.
How do I apply for Home Health Nurse jobs at BayCare Health System?
You can find open Home Health Nurse positions at BayCare through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship availability so you're not applying blind. Once you identify a role, apply through BayCare's careers portal and flag your visa situation early in the screening process. BayCare's talent acquisition team is familiar with sponsored candidates, so transparency upfront avoids delays later.
How long does BayCare's visa sponsorship process take for Home Health Nurses?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS takes six to eight months, though premium processing can reduce adjudication to around 15 business days. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship runs longer, typically two to four years including USCIS processing and any visa backlog. For F-1 OPT, authorization is already in place, so the hiring timeline is driven by BayCare's onboarding schedule rather than a government filing.
