Frame Your PMP Around IT Delivery
CDW's Program Managers oversee technology solutions deployments, not abstract project portfolios. Tailor your resume to show experience managing cross-functional IT programs, vendor coordination, and client-facing delivery cycles specific to enterprise technology environments.
Confirm Sponsorship Before Final Interviews
CDW sponsors multiple visa types for this function, but not every open Program Manager role is automatically approved for sponsorship. Ask your recruiter directly which visa types they'll support for the specific requisition before advancing past the phone screen.
Align Your Degree to the Specialty Occupation Standard
H-1B approval for Program Manager roles requires USCIS to accept the position as a specialty occupation. A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or Engineering strengthens that case significantly more than an unrelated field with general management experience.
Prepare for an LCA Wage Level Conversation
CDW files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your H-1B petition, locking in a prevailing wage level. Understanding where your offer falls within DOL wage tiers for Program Manager roles in your work location helps you evaluate the offer accurately.
Target CDW's Public Sector and Solutions Divisions
CDW's government, healthcare, and education divisions run large, multi-year technology programs that generate consistent Program Manager demand. Focusing your application on these segments increases your chances of landing a role with a long-term sponsorship runway.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Openings
CDW posts Program Manager roles across multiple divisions simultaneously, and sponsorship availability varies by requisition. Use Migrate Mate to filter CDW's open positions by visa type so you're only applying to roles where sponsorship is confirmed.

Find Program Manager at CDW JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CDW sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
Yes, CDW sponsors H-1B visas for Program Manager roles. The process requires CDW to first file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, followed by an I-129 petition with USCIS. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are subject to an annual lottery, timing your offer relative to the April filing window matters. CDW also supports cap-exempt filings in some cases depending on your prior H-1B history.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at CDW?
Applications go through CDW's careers portal, but not every listed role is approved for visa sponsorship. The most efficient approach is to use Migrate Mate to browse CDW's Program Manager openings filtered by visa type, so you can confirm sponsorship eligibility before investing time in the application. From there, tailor your materials to CDW's technology solutions delivery context before submitting.
Which visa types does CDW commonly use for Program Manager roles?
CDW sponsors H-1B visas as the primary nonimmigrant pathway for Program Managers, along with TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. For recent graduates, CDW accepts F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT, which bridge the gap before H-1B eligibility. On the immigrant side, CDW has pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for Program Managers in longer-tenured positions.
What qualifications does CDW expect for Program Manager roles?
CDW typically expects a bachelor's degree in a technology or business-related field, along with experience managing IT projects in enterprise environments. PMP certification strengthens your application, especially for roles supporting CDW's public sector or healthcare clients. Familiarity with IT infrastructure, software procurement cycles, or managed services delivery is frequently referenced in CDW's Program Manager job descriptions.
How do I time my application around H-1B sponsorship deadlines?
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date, meaning you need a signed offer well before that window. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date and calculate whether it bridges to October 1. USCIS offers a registration period each March, so coordinating your CDW offer and I-129 filing with that calendar is essential to avoid a gap in work authorization.
