Frame your credentials around advisory client growth
CrossCountry Consulting values BD candidates who can demonstrate measurable pipeline development within professional services. Before applying, document specific client acquisition wins, proposal outcomes, and revenue contributions that map directly to accounting and auditing advisory contexts.
Target CrossCountry's open roles by practice area
CrossCountry posts Business Development Manager openings across multiple service lines. Filter by the accounting and auditing practice specifically, since visa sponsorship decisions can vary by team, headcount need, and project backlog. Casting wide across all roles dilutes your targeting.
Clarify E-3 eligibility before your first interview
If you hold Australian citizenship, the E-3 visa is often a faster path than H-1B for consulting BD roles. Confirm with your recruiter early that your degree field aligns with a specialty occupation designation, since consulting firms occasionally misclassify BD roles during LCA filing.
Align your OPT timeline with CrossCountry's hiring cycle
F-1 OPT authorization runs for 12 months, with a 60-day grace period after it expires. If you're targeting a Business Development Manager role at CrossCountry, initiate your USCIS application through your DSO at least 90 days before your program end date to avoid gaps in work authorization.
Use Migrate Mate to identify active sponsorship openings
CrossCountry Consulting's Business Development Manager listings aren't always labeled as sponsor-eligible on general job boards. Search Migrate Mate to surface roles at CrossCountry that are actively open to visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already on the table.
Prepare for PERM documentation requirements ahead of offer
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, CrossCountry must run a PERM labor certification through DOL before petitioning USCIS. Ask during the offer stage whether the firm has completed PERM filings for similar BD roles, since the employer-side timeline can add 12 to 18 months before your petition moves forward.

Find Business Development Manager at CrossCountry Consulting JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Managers?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting has sponsored H-1B visas for Business Development Manager roles. H-1B eligibility for BD positions depends on the role meeting USCIS specialty occupation criteria, which typically requires a directly related bachelor's degree or higher. Because H-1B selection involves an annual lottery, timing your application around the April filing window and cap-subject registration period in March is essential.
How do I apply for Business Development Manager jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
Applications go through CrossCountry Consulting's careers page, where Business Development Manager openings are listed by practice area. Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point to filter specifically for CrossCountry roles that include visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you time screening out positions where sponsorship isn't available. Have your resume, professional references, and work authorization documentation ready before submitting.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting commonly use for Business Development Manager roles?
CrossCountry Consulting has sponsored H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for roles in its accounting and auditing practice. The E-3 is often the most efficient route for Australian nationals, while TN applies to Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying business or management categories. The right visa depends on your citizenship, degree field, and employment timeline.
What qualifications does CrossCountry Consulting expect for a sponsored Business Development Manager?
CrossCountry typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field, combined with professional services BD experience. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree must align with the specialty occupation definition USCIS applies to the role. Experience developing client relationships within accounting, audit, or management consulting firms strengthens both your candidacy and the visa petition's credibility.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Business Development Manager at CrossCountry Consulting?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B sponsorship follows a fixed annual cycle with a March registration window and October 1 start date, adding six to eight months from offer to authorization. E-3 and TN can move faster, sometimes within four to six weeks of offer acceptance. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship involves DOL's PERM process, which typically adds 12 to 18 months before USCIS petition filing.
