This role is ideal for someone who thrives on face-to-face interaction, understands the value of personalized healthcare, and the impact of patient choice in health coverage.
You will spend time in dialysis clinics, engage with eligible patients and caregivers, and build trust that leads to informed health insurance decisions. You’ll also work closely with care teams and local leadership to understand how the care management program works alongside strong health plan benefits to support this patient community.
Note: You must possess or be willing to obtain the required licensure to educate on health plans in the state of Virginia, called the Producer License with the Health line of authority. If you are selected for the role but do not possess the required licensure, DaVita will reimburse the cost of obtaining the licensure.
Position Details:
- Ideal candidate will reside in Norfolk, VA
- Commute to Davita clinics in surrounding areas
- Required to be in Davita clinics 5 days/week between 7:30 and 2:30
- Travel to Denver HQ 1-2 times annually
- Mileage for daily commute reimbursed
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the value-based care program’s affiliated health plans within dialysis clinics and the surrounding community to raise awareness, build trust, and support informed patient coverage decisions.
- Build strong relationships with in-clinic staff—facility administrators, social workers, and administrative assistants—to facilitate coordinated, compliant marketing efforts.
- Develop a strong understanding of the plan’s benefits, eligibility criteria, and the role of care management in driving better health outcomes for members.
- Partner with assigned brokers to support enrollment of interested patients.
- Communicate plan and program information in a clear, ethical, and compliant manner—ensuring CMS marketing guidelines and internal compliance guardrails are followed.
- Identify barriers to engagement and provide insights that improve our local marketing approach.
- Track engagement and field activity metrics to support performance evaluation and continuous improvement.
- Potential to represent the plan at community events or engage existing members for retention activities.
- Travel to clinic locations at least four days/week to speak with kidney care patients, caregivers, and clinic staff.
- Occasional option to work Saturdays and evening events, if desired.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Active Health and Life Insurance License from the state of California required; Medicare Advantage marketing experience strongly preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in healthcare marketing, insurance sales, grassroots outreach, or community engagement preferred.
- Proven relationship-builder with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based role, with strong personal organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
- Must reside in the Norfolk, VA area and possess a valid Virginia driver’s license and reliable transportation—a majority of time will be spent inside dialysis clinics or traveling locally. (This role will drive their personal automobile to get from one clinic to another; DaVita will reimburse mileage costs).
- Bilingual / Spanish-speaking is strongly preferred.
What We’re Looking For:
- Passion for connecting kidney care populations with healthcare options tailored to their needs.
- Confidence to communicate clearly, compassionately, and compliantly about health plans and our care program.
- Curiosity to learn and explain how care management complements plan benefits.
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving pilot environment.

Frame your healthcare operations experience clearly
DaVita Project Administrators manage clinical workflows, vendor coordination, and cross-functional timelines in regulated healthcare settings. Tailor your resume to show project coordination in healthcare or medical services, not just general project management.
Target DaVita's kidney care division specifically
DaVita's largest hiring volume for Project Administrators sits within its dialysis and kidney care operations. Search for roles tied to clinical operations or network expansion rather than corporate functions, where sponsorship activity is more concentrated.
Start your OPT timeline before the offer stage
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT end date before interviewing. DaVita's onboarding process for project roles can run six to eight weeks, and starting that clock late can put you outside your authorized work period before your first day.
Understand how PERM intersects with this role
DaVita has pursued Green Card sponsorship for project and operations roles. PERM labor certification requires demonstrating no qualified U.S. workers applied, so your credentials in healthcare project coordination need to be clearly documented from day one.
Ask HR about their H-1B cap-exempt entity status
DaVita is a for-profit healthcare company, meaning it is cap-subject for H-1B purposes. If you missed the lottery this cycle, ask your recruiter whether any DaVita affiliates or contracted facilities qualify as cap-exempt under USCIS criteria.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
DaVita regularly posts Project Administrator openings, but not all list sponsorship details upfront. Use Migrate Mate to filter DaVita's active listings by the visa types they sponsor, so you're applying only to roles where your visa situation is already a known fit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DaVita sponsor H-1B visas for Project Administrators?
Yes, DaVita sponsors H-1B visas for Project Administrator roles. Because DaVita is a for-profit company, H-1B petitions are subject to the annual USCIS cap and lottery. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, a transfer to DaVita bypasses the lottery entirely, making that the more straightforward path.
How do I apply for Project Administrator jobs at DaVita?
You can apply through DaVita's careers portal directly. Before applying, review the specific business unit listed, since Project Administrator roles span clinical operations, IT, and facilities. Migrate Mate aggregates DaVita's open Project Administrator positions and filters them by visa sponsorship type, which helps you prioritize roles that match your current status.
Which visa types does DaVita commonly sponsor for Project Administrator roles?
DaVita sponsors H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Project Administrator positions, and has pursued permanent residency pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-tenure employees. TN visa sponsorship applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, and can be a faster alternative to waiting on H-1B lottery results.
What qualifications does DaVita expect for a sponsored Project Administrator role?
DaVita typically looks for a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience coordinating projects in a clinical or regulated environment. Familiarity with healthcare compliance frameworks, vendor management, and cross-functional team coordination strengthens your candidacy significantly over general project management backgrounds.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after receiving an offer from DaVita?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B transfers can be approved in two to four weeks with USCIS premium processing, which costs an additional fee but is commonly used for time-sensitive starts. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship is a multi-year process. Confirm with DaVita's HR team which pathway applies to your role before accepting an offer.
