Align your degree to Stepful's role requirements
E-3 requires a specialty occupation, meaning your degree field must directly match the job. For Stepful's education and healthcare training roles, degrees in instructional design, nursing education, or health sciences carry more weight than general management credentials.
Target curriculum and clinical education teams
Stepful builds healthcare training programs, so their heaviest hiring is in curriculum development, clinical instruction, and learning experience design. Focus your application on these teams rather than generalist roles, where the specialty occupation case is harder to make.
Confirm Stepful has filed an LCA before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before your consulate appointment. Ask Stepful's HR or legal team to confirm LCA filing is in progress so your timeline doesn't stall at the consulate.
Use Migrate Mate to check Stepful's LCA filing history
Before applying, verify which job titles Stepful has filed Labor Condition Applications for. Migrate Mate surfaces this DOL data by employer, so you can see whether your target role matches their actual E-3 filing patterns.
Request the E-3 Letter of Support early in the offer stage
Stepful's HR team needs to prepare a support letter describing your role, salary, and how it meets specialty occupation requirements. Ask for this document the moment you receive a verbal offer so it's ready before you schedule your consulate appointment.
Benchmark your offered salary against the prevailing wage
DOL requires your salary to meet or exceed the prevailing wage for your occupation and location. Run your job title and Stepful's work location through the OFLC Wage Search before your offer conversation so you can flag any gaps early.
Stepful E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Stepful sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Stepful sponsors E-3 visas for Australian nationals in qualifying specialty occupation roles. Their sponsorship is concentrated in education technology and healthcare training positions, where a directly related degree is required. Roles in curriculum development, clinical instruction, and learning experience design are the most common fit for E-3 eligibility at Stepful.
Which roles at Stepful are most likely to qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Stepful's strongest E-3 fits are roles that require a specific degree in a related field. Curriculum developers, clinical education specialists, instructional designers, and healthcare training coordinators align well with the specialty occupation standard. General operations or business development roles are harder to support under E-3 because the degree-to-job connection is less direct.
How do I start the E-3 application process after receiving an offer from Stepful?
Once Stepful extends an offer, their HR or immigration team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. After LCA certification, you complete the DS-160 online, pay the MRV fee, and schedule your consulate appointment in Australia. Stepful provides a support letter and certified LCA to bring to your interview. The full process typically takes four to eight weeks.
How long does E-3 sponsorship processing take at Stepful?
The LCA stage typically takes seven business days with DOL. Consulate appointment availability in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth drives most of the overall timeline variation. From offer letter to visa stamp, most applicants complete the process in four to eight weeks, though peak consulate periods can extend this. Migrate Mate can help you prepare your filing documents and manage the timeline.
How do I confirm my role at Stepful meets the E-3 specialty occupation standard?
Cross-reference your job title and duties against the O*NET occupation profile for your field. The role must normally require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific discipline, not just any degree. If Stepful's job description uses language like 'bachelor's preferred' rather than 'required,' ask HR to clarify before accepting, since that distinction affects your E-3 eligibility.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Stepful?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
