Tips for Finding Project Program Manager Jobs at Generac Power Systems
Align your credentials to manufacturing program management
PMP certification carries weight at Generac, but pairing it with demonstrated experience in hardware product launches or production scaling strengthens your profile considerably. Recruiters here look for candidates who understand manufacturing constraints, not just project frameworks.
Target roles tied to new product introduction
Generac's growth in clean energy and backup power means NPI program manager openings often have the clearest business justification for H-1B sponsorship. Roles tied to active product lines are easier for employers to defend during the DOL Labor Condition Application process.
Verify your employer's E-Verify enrollment early
Generac participates in E-Verify, which is required for H-1B sponsorship. Confirming this before your offer stage removes ambiguity and signals to your recruiter that you understand the process, which builds confidence in your sponsorship conversation.
Front-load sponsorship discussions before final interviews
Manufacturing companies like Generac move quickly from final interview to offer. Raising your H-1B or Green Card sponsorship need after an offer is extended creates friction. Address it with the recruiter during the screening call so the hiring manager is aligned from the start.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Project Program Manager roles
Generac's sponsoring roles aren't always easy to surface through general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Project Program Manager openings at Generac that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're applying where the pathway already exists.
Plan your H-1B timeline around the annual cap
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March, with work authorization starting October 1 if selected. If you're on OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility and end date so Generac's HR team can structure an offer that bridges the gap without a work authorization lapse.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Generac Power Systems sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
Yes, Generac Power Systems sponsors H-1B visas for Project Program Manager roles. The company has an active sponsorship track record for this function, particularly for positions tied to product development and manufacturing operations. Sponsorship is typically handled through the company's internal HR and legal teams, and the process follows the standard USCIS H-1B cap lottery cycle.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at Generac Power Systems?
Applications go through Generac's careers portal, where Project Program Manager openings are listed by business unit and location. Tailoring your resume to reflect manufacturing program management experience, including NPI cycles, cross-functional team leadership, and production milestone ownership, will strengthen your application. You can also browse current visa-sponsoring openings at Generac directly through Migrate Mate.
Which visa types does Generac Power Systems use for Project Program Manager roles?
Generac sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based Green Cards, including EB-2 and EB-3 categories, for Project Program Manager positions. H-1B is the most common starting point for international hires. Green Card sponsorship through PERM labor certification typically becomes available after an employee establishes tenure in the role.
What qualifications does Generac look for in Project Program Manager candidates requiring sponsorship?
Generac's Project Program Manager roles generally require a bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related technical field, along with several years of program management experience in a manufacturing environment. PMP certification is frequently listed as preferred. Familiarity with stage-gate development processes and experience managing cross-functional teams across hardware product lifecycles are strong differentiators.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take for a role at Generac Power Systems?
From offer to work authorization, the standard H-1B timeline runs roughly six to nine months when filing under the annual cap. USCIS opens registration in March and cap-subject H-1B status begins October 1. Premium processing, which USCIS adjudicates within 15 business days, is available if Generac elects to use it and reduces approval wait time significantly after selection.
