Align Your Experience to Manufacturing Operations
Generac prioritizes candidates with direct manufacturing or production operations backgrounds. Frame your resume around process improvement, supply chain coordination, or plant-floor experience to match the operational scale of a power generation manufacturer.
Verify Your Role Qualifies as a Specialty Occupation
H-1B eligibility requires your Operations role to meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning it normally needs a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Operations generalist titles sometimes face RFEs, so confirm the job description ties clearly to an engineering, industrial, or supply chain discipline.
Target Generac Roles with PERM-Eligible Structures
If your goal is a Green Card, look for Operations positions where duties are well-defined and repeatable. PERM labor certification through DOL requires the employer to document a specific job requirement, so roles with narrow, specialized duties are easier to sponsor than broad operational management titles.
Time Your Application Around H-1B Cap Deadlines
H-1B registrations open each March for an October 1 start date. If you're targeting a Generac Operations role, aim to have an offer finalized by February so your employer has time to file before the USCIS registration window closes.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Operations Roles
Identifying which Generac Operations postings are actively open for sponsored candidates saves significant time. Use Migrate Mate to filter Generac's current Operations openings by visa type so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already on the table.
Prepare Your Credentials for DOL Wage Compliance
Generac must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL confirming your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your Operations role and location. Research the relevant wage level for your specific title in Wisconsin before negotiating your offer.

Find Operations at Generac Power Systems JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Generac Power Systems sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, Generac Power Systems sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Operations positions. Sponsorship is most straightforward for roles that clearly meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field like industrial engineering, supply chain management, or operations management. Broad generalist titles may require stronger documentation to support the H-1B petition.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Generac Power Systems?
Apply directly through Generac's careers page, targeting Operations roles that list visa sponsorship as available. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse Generac's open Operations positions filtered by sponsorship eligibility. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect manufacturing-specific experience such as production planning, process optimization, or supply chain coordination, which align closely with Generac's operational environment.
Which visa types does Generac Power Systems commonly use for Operations hires?
Generac sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based immigrant visas including EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Operations roles. H-1B is the most common path for initial employment, while EB-2 and EB-3 are used for longer-term sponsorship. The visa type depends on your role's complexity, your educational background, and how far along you are in your immigration journey.
What qualifications does Generac look for in sponsored Operations candidates?
Generac typically seeks Operations candidates with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, supply chain, operations management, or a related technical field. Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, familiarity with lean or Six Sigma methodologies, and exposure to production planning or logistics are common differentiators. For H-1B sponsorship, your degree must directly relate to the specific duties of the role.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Operations roles at Generac?
For H-1B sponsorship, Generac must first file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, which typically takes seven business days, then submit the H-1B petition to USCIS. Standard processing takes three to five months. Premium processing, available for an additional USCIS fee, reduces the adjudication window to 15 business days. For Green Card sponsorship via PERM, the full process from labor certification to visa issuance can take two to four years or more depending on your country of birth.
