Align your credentials with Generac's technical requirements
Generac's Technician roles often require certifications in electrical systems, generators, or industrial equipment. Before applying, verify your credentials translate clearly to U.S. standards and document any manufacturer-specific training, since hiring managers in manufacturing weigh hands-on certifications heavily.
Target Generac's field service and manufacturing openings separately
Generac posts Technician roles across two distinct pipelines: facility-based manufacturing positions and field service roles tied to regional territories. Field service openings tend to have faster hiring cycles, so tracking both tracks increases your chances of finding a sponsorship-ready position.
Find open Technician roles using Migrate Mate
Search Generac's active Technician openings on Migrate Mate, which filters for positions where visa sponsorship is confirmed. This saves time you'd otherwise spend contacting recruiters to verify whether a specific role is sponsorship-eligible before applying.
Ask about H-1B timing before accepting an offer
H-1B cap filings open in March for an October 1 start date. If you receive a Generac offer outside that window, clarify whether the role qualifies for a cap-exempt filing or whether the start date can be structured around the next registration period.
Understand how PERM applies to your Generac role
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through Generac requires a PERM labor certification filed with DOL before the immigrant petition. Technical roles in manufacturing commonly qualify, but the process takes 12 to 24 months, so confirm the employer's willingness to commit early in negotiations.
Prepare for E-Verify clearance before your start date
Generac participates in E-Verify, the federal employment eligibility system. Have your work authorization documents ready before onboarding and confirm your visa status is correctly reflected, since discrepancies in E-Verify trigger tentative nonconfirmations that must be resolved within eight federal business days.

Find Technician at Generac Power Systems JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Generac Power Systems sponsor H-1B visas for Technicians?
Yes, Generac Power Systems sponsors H-1B visas for Technician roles. Technical positions in manufacturing and field service operations have supported H-1B filings where the role meets the specialty occupation standard. You'll want to confirm sponsorship intent early in the interview process, since not every open Technician posting will automatically include H-1B support.
How do I apply for Technician jobs at Generac Power Systems?
You can browse Generac's active Technician openings directly through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which surfaces sponsorship-eligible roles and lets you filter by visa type. Generac posts positions across both manufacturing facilities and field service territories, so searching both categories will give you the most complete picture of what's available.
Which visa types does Generac Power Systems commonly use for Technician roles?
Generac has sponsored both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories for technical workers. H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant path for Technicians who meet specialty occupation criteria. For longer-term work authorization, Generac has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, which requires a PERM labor certification filed with the Department of Labor before the immigrant petition.
What qualifications does Generac Power Systems expect for sponsored Technician positions?
Generac typically looks for a combination of relevant technical education and hands-on experience with power generation equipment, electrical systems, or industrial machinery. Certifications from recognized bodies in electrical or mechanical work strengthen your candidacy. For H-1B eligibility specifically, the role must require at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related specialty field, which most advanced Technician roles at Generac satisfy.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Technician role at Generac?
For H-1B sponsorship, expect three to six months from offer acceptance to visa approval if you're filing under standard processing, or two to four weeks with USCIS premium processing. Green Card sponsorship through PERM is a longer commitment, typically running 18 to 36 months from labor certification through immigrant visa approval, depending on your country of birth and priority date availability.
