Frame your credentials around energy markets
Generac's Business Development roles focus on power generation, clean energy, and grid resilience verticals. Tailor your resume to show commercial experience in manufacturing, energy infrastructure, or industrial equipment sales before you apply.
Target roles that match your visa timing
If your OPT is expiring, prioritize Generac openings that are posted well before your cap-out date. Filing an H-1B petition requires the employer to submit a Labor Condition Application to DOL first, so starting early matters.
Confirm sponsorship intent during early screens
Ask the recruiter directly whether the specific Business Development role is approved for visa sponsorship. Generac's hiring decisions can vary by business unit and level, so get written confirmation before investing in later interview rounds.
Prepare for PERM documentation if targeting a Green Card
EB-2 and EB-3 pathways require PERM labor certification through DOL, which means your employer must document recruitment efforts. Gather your academic credentials and employment records early so you're ready when Generac initiates the process.
Search Generac Business Development openings on Migrate Mate
Filter by visa type and role category to surface active Generac positions that align with your sponsorship needs. Migrate Mate surfaces job listings from employers with verified H-1B and employment-based sponsorship histories.
Leverage Generac's channel partner network in interviews
Generac sells heavily through dealers, distributors, and electrical contractors. Demonstrating prior experience managing channel relationships or developing dealer programs positions you as a stronger hire for their Business Development team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Generac Power Systems sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development roles?
Yes, Generac Power Systems has sponsored H-1B visas for Business Development positions. Sponsorship availability can vary by role level and business unit, so confirm directly with the recruiter during the screening stage. If approved, Generac files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Generac Power Systems?
Apply through Generac's careers portal or browse their active Business Development openings on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles from employers with sponsorship histories. Tailor your application to highlight channel sales, energy markets, or commercial growth experience. Mention your visa status and sponsorship needs clearly so the recruiter can flag it early in the process.
Which visa types does Generac Power Systems use for Business Development hires?
Generac has used both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based immigrant visas, specifically EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories, for professional roles including Business Development. H-1B is the most common path for initial work authorization, with PERM-based Green Card sponsorship available for longer-term employees who meet DOL's labor certification requirements.
What qualifications does Generac look for in Business Development candidates seeking sponsorship?
Generac's Business Development roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience in commercial growth, strategic partnerships, or industrial sales. Familiarity with power generation, energy storage, or the electrical contractor ecosystem gives candidates a clear advantage. Prior channel development or OEM partnership experience is frequently referenced in their job postings.
How do I think about the timeline if Generac sponsors my H-1B for a Business Development role?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, the annual lottery registration window opens in March, with an October 1 employment start date for selected petitions. That means you and Generac need to align on an offer well before March. If you're already on a valid work visa like OPT or L-1 visa, a cap-exempt or transfer path may allow an earlier start date.
