Align your credentials to Google's expectations
Google's Product Development Manager roles typically require demonstrated experience owning end-to-end product development cycles, not just coordination. Frame your resume around technical depth, cross-functional ownership, and measurable product outcomes before you apply.
Target teams where sponsorship is routine
Google's hardware, cloud infrastructure, and AI platforms teams have historically filed the most nonimmigrant petitions for product and program roles. Prioritize roles in these divisions when filtering open positions, as sponsorship processes are more established there.
Understand which visa fits your background
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for this role. If you're an Australian citizen, the E-3 has no lottery and allows faster timelines. Clarify your eligibility before your offer stage so Google's immigration team can start the right petition immediately.
Know what Google's immigration team needs from you
Once an offer is extended, Google's in-house or retained immigration counsel will drive the petition. Your job is to provide academic credentials, employment history documentation, and a detailed job duties summary quickly and accurately to avoid delays.
Browse open roles using Migrate Mate
Filtering for Product Development Manager openings at sponsors like Google is faster when you use a visa-focused job board. Migrate Mate surfaces roles by visa type and employer sponsorship history, so you can focus applications where your visa category is already supported.

Find Product Development Manager at Google JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Product Development Managers?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Product Development Manager roles. The H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant work visa for this position, given its availability to candidates of all nationalities. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions go through the USCIS lottery each spring, timing matters. If you receive an offer, Google's immigration team will guide you through the registration and petition process aligned to the relevant fiscal year cap season.
How do I apply for Product Development Manager jobs at Google?
Applications go through Google's careers site, where you can search by role title and location. Product Development Manager roles at Google are highly competitive, so tailor your application to emphasize technical product ownership, cross-functional leadership, and measurable delivery outcomes. If you need visa sponsorship, indicate that clearly and early in the process. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse current openings at Google filtered by visa sponsorship type before applying directly.
Which visa types does Google commonly use for Product Development Manager roles?
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Product Development Manager positions. The H-1B is available to all nationalities but requires going through the annual USCIS lottery. The H-1B1 is available to citizens of Chile and Singapore with a simpler filing process and no lottery. The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and also bypasses the lottery, making it a faster path when eligible.
What qualifications does Google expect for a Product Development Manager?
Google's Product Development Manager roles typically require a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, often at the master's level for senior positions. Beyond education, Google looks for hands-on experience managing complex hardware or software product development cycles, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and a track record of shipping products at scale. Candidates with experience in cloud, AI, or consumer hardware platforms tend to align well with Google's open headcount in this function.
How do I understand the timeline for visa sponsorship after receiving a Google offer?
Timeline depends on your visa category. For H-1B, USCIS opens lottery registration in March, with employment starting no earlier than October 1, so offers outside that window may require a status bridge. E-3 and H-1B1 petitions can be filed throughout the year without a lottery, often allowing faster starts. Google's immigration counsel will outline the specific filing sequence once your offer is finalized, but building in eight to twelve weeks for petition preparation is a reasonable baseline.
