Frame your portfolio around commercialization outcomes
Molex product development roles emphasize getting products from concept to market, not just design work. Organize your portfolio around launch milestones, cross-functional coordination, and measurable delivery results rather than technical specs alone.
Confirm LCA filing before accepting an offer
Before signing, ask your recruiter whether the Labor Condition Application has been filed with DOL. The LCA must be certified before your H-1B petition can be submitted, so delays here push back your start date.
Target open roles that align with your OPT timeline
F-1 OPT gives you 12 months of work authorization, with a 60-day grace period if employment ends. Apply to Molex openings early enough that onboarding completes well before your OPT expiration to avoid a gap in authorization.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Molex roles by visa type
Molex posts Product Development Manager openings across multiple functions. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles that match your visa category so you apply to positions where sponsorship is already built into the hiring process.
Highlight cross-functional leadership for TN eligibility
Canadian and Mexican nationals applying under TN status need a role that clearly maps to a qualifying USMCA profession. Product Development Manager duties involving engineering oversight or scientific process management typically satisfy this requirement; pure project coordination alone may not.
Prepare credential equivalency documentation early
If your degree was awarded outside the United States, obtain a credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization before applying. Molex product development roles require demonstrated specialty occupation status, and unclear degree equivalency is a common reason USCIS issues a Request for Evidence.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Molex sponsor H-1B visas for Product Development Managers?
Yes, Molex sponsors H-1B visas for Product Development Manager roles. The process requires your employer to file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS. Because H-1B cap-subject filings are subject to an annual lottery, timing your application cycle correctly is critical, particularly if you are transitioning from OPT or another status.
How do I apply for Product Development Manager jobs at Molex?
Apply directly through Molex's careers portal or browse verified openings on Migrate Mate, which surfaces Molex roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. Tailor your application to emphasize product lifecycle ownership and cross-functional delivery, as these are the core competencies Molex evaluates for this function. Following up with the recruiting team after submitting is standard practice for senior individual contributor and manager-level roles.
Which visa types does Molex commonly use for Product Development Manager roles?
Molex sponsors across several work visa categories for this function, including H-1B, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning to full-time roles, J-1 visa for eligible exchange visitors, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for candidates pursuing permanent residence. The right category depends on your nationality, educational background, and how long you need authorization to last.
What qualifications does Molex expect for a Product Development Manager?
Molex typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, materials science, industrial design, or a closely related field. For the manager level, hands-on experience leading a product from development through commercialization is expected, along with demonstrated ability to coordinate across manufacturing, sourcing, and sales functions. Candidates without a directly related degree may need to document equivalent experience for USCIS specialty occupation purposes.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap filing season?
USCIS opens H-1B registrations in March each year for an October 1 start date. If you are on OPT, confirm your authorization does not expire before October 1, or apply for OPT STEM extension if you qualify. Molex would need your petition filed by April and should begin the LCA process well in advance of the registration window opening.
