Frame your strategy experience in Google's language
Google evaluates Strategy Manager candidates on structured problem-solving and data-driven decision-making. Align your resume and interviews to their known frameworks: quantify business impact, show cross-functional influence, and tie your work to measurable outcomes at scale.
Target Google's internal mobility pipeline early
Many Google Strategy Manager openings fill through internal transfers or intern conversions. Applying directly to associate or analyst roles first, then moving up, is a realistic path that also gives your visa petition a stronger internal champion during filing.
Understand which visa fits your nationality before applying
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for this role. If you're Australian, the E-3 bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely, with a two-year renewable term. Knowing your category before offer negotiations lets you have an informed conversation with Google's immigration team.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation proactively
Strategy Manager petitions under H-1B require demonstrating a specialty occupation. Gather degree transcripts, a job description referencing specific analytical or business strategy disciplines, and any professional certifications before your offer stage so there's no delay in filing with USCIS.
Account for LCA timing in your start date planning
Before USCIS can process your H-1B petition, Google's team must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL. LCA certification typically takes seven business days, but factor this into any negotiated start date to avoid a gap between your intended first day and authorized work status.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Strategy Manager roles at Google
Strategy Manager postings at Google move quickly and aren't always flagged as visa-friendly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship-eligible openings and track active roles before they close.

Find Strategy Manager at Google JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Strategy Managers?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Strategy Manager roles. The position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards because it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business, economics, or a related discipline. Google's in-house immigration team handles the petition process, and the company has a consistent history of filing for this function.
Which visa types does Google commonly use for Strategy Manager roles?
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Strategy Manager positions. H-1B is the most broadly applicable and subject to the annual lottery. H-1B1 is available to Chilean and Singaporean nationals. E-3 is exclusive to Australian citizens and sidesteps the lottery entirely, making it the most predictable path for eligible candidates.
What qualifications does Google expect for Strategy Manager candidates needing sponsorship?
Google typically looks for a bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or a quantitative field, with an MBA viewed favorably for senior levels. Beyond credentials, strong candidates demonstrate experience in structured analytical problem-solving, cross-functional project leadership, and translating data into strategic recommendations, ideally within technology, consulting, or high-growth environments.
How do I apply for Strategy Manager jobs at Google?
Start by identifying open Strategy Manager roles on Google's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters for positions open to visa sponsorship. Tailor your application to reflect data-driven impact and cross-functional scope. Google's hiring process for this role typically includes a recruiter screen, structured behavioral interviews, and a case or analytical exercise before an offer is extended.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship for a Google Strategy Manager role?
H-1B cap-subject filings open in early April for an October 1 start date, so an offer in the first quarter of the year gives you the best runway. If you're selected in the lottery, USCIS processes standard petitions within three to five months. Premium processing cuts that to around two weeks. Factor in the DOL Labor Condition Application, which must be certified before USCIS filing, and align your start date negotiation accordingly.
