About the Team
DoorDash Drive is our rapidly scaling fulfillment platform serving restaurants, grocers, retailers, and CPGs on a global scale. We are a highly entrepreneurial group, constantly identifying the largest pain points across our partners and building differentiated solutions powered by our logistics network and the flywheel connecting Dashers, Merchants, and Customers. Beyond our core restaurant business, we're also placing bets on new lines of business that leverage DoorDash's unique data and delivery capabilities.
About the Role
We are looking for someone who is passionate about building new business lines and scaling partnerships to join our Strategy & Operations team. You will be responsible for growing our CPG partnerships and go-to-market strategy, working with some of the world's largest consumer brands to unlock new ways they can leverage DoorDash's platform and marketplace insights to drive value across their business.
This role will own the growth, profitability, and strategic roadmap for our CPG offering. We are looking for a highly motivated first-principles thinker with a deep sense of ownership, someone who can move fluidly between building partner-facing narratives and diving into the details to identify the next big product offering opportunity. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Strategy & Operations, you will work closely with product, engineering, business development, and other cross-functional partners to turn early-stage bets into scalable businesses.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Own & Strategize: You will own your business segment end-to-end, defining and executing strategies to drive growth and adoption of key initiatives. You will set direction for both near-term impact and long-term success, shaping how we invest and scale over time.
- Build & Innovate: You will lead 01 initiatives and develop new growth opportunities, partnering with Product to define our roadmap through a combination of data-driven insights and partner feedback.
- Operate & Execute: You will get to the lowest level of detail to drive execution against your strategy, working cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Sales, and Engineering to bring initiatives to life and scale impact.
- Lead Partner Relationships: You will serve as a key point of contact for strategic partners, building strong relationships and partnering closely to grow their business and inform our approach.
We're excited about you because…
- You have an extreme sense of ownership. You display extreme ownership for the products and business lines that you are responsible for. You never shy away from raising your hand to solve ambiguous problems and are able to motivate and empower your teammates to go above and beyond.
- You act with urgency. Speed excites you. You prefer an accomplishment today to an accomplishment tomorrow.
- You're a builder. You enjoy building from the ground up and excel in creating structure and process.
- You're an analytical powerhouse. You let data win arguments, and you're comfortable pulling your own data in SQL and modeling in Excel.
- You thrive with a diverse set of responsibilities. You love working across a breadth of disciplines and teams.
- You solve problems from first principles. You're excited to solve problems in innovative ways, and you resist "this is how it's always been done" thinking.
- You're even-keeled. You thrive under pressure and maintain a sense of calm when faced with challenging and time-sensitive obstacles.
- You're persuasive. You are an effective communicator, speaking as if you're right and listening as if you're wrong. You meet people on their level.
- You don't need a guide. You dive into difficult problems and come up with a plan.
- You have 4-6 years of experience. You've succeeded in a competitive, challenging environment.
Bonus Points
- You have experience working with CPGs.
- You have experience scaling both logistics and software offerings.
- You have experience in managing or supporting a complex P&L.
- You have experience in the tech industry launching new partners and new products.
- You have a demonstrated interest in logistics, on-demand services, and marketplaces.

Frame your experience around marketplace strategy
DoorDash prioritizes candidates who can connect data analysis to business outcomes in two-sided marketplace environments. Before applying, reframe your resume around decisions you drove, not just analyses you ran. SQL proficiency and comfort with ambiguity signal readiness for their strategy function.
Identify open roles by vertical and geography
DoorDash's Strategy Manager openings span verticals including Merchant, Consumer, and New Verticals, and vary by city. Targeting the right vertical improves your interview fit significantly. Filter open roles by the business unit closest to your prior industry experience before reaching out to recruiters.
Confirm your visa category before the offer stage
DoorDash sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT among other categories. Knowing which category applies to you before the offer call prevents delays. If you're on OPT, confirm your cap-gap situation or STEM extension eligibility so you can communicate your work authorization timeline clearly to the hiring team.
Time your application around H-1B cap deadlines
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS opens the registration window in March for an October 1 start date. DoorDash must register you before that window closes. Starting your job search in late fall gives the hiring process enough runway to complete before the registration deadline.
Prepare your educational credentials for specialty occupation review
Strategy Manager roles at DoorDash typically require a bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field. If your degree is from outside the United States, obtain a credential evaluation from a NACES-accredited evaluator before the filing stage so your petition reflects equivalency without delays.
Use Migrate Mate to surface DoorDash strategy openings
Filtering visa-sponsoring employers by role type is time-consuming without the right tool. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified Strategy Manager openings at DoorDash that align with your visa category, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than discovering it after the offer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DoorDash sponsor H-1B visas for Strategy Managers?
Yes, DoorDash sponsors H-1B visas for Strategy Manager roles. The company files petitions through the standard USCIS H-1B cap process, which means timing your job search around the March registration window is important. If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, DoorDash can file an H-1B transfer, allowing you to start work once the petition is received by USCIS.
Which visa types does DoorDash commonly sponsor for Strategy Manager roles?
DoorDash sponsors a range of visa categories for Strategy Managers, including H-1B, H-1B1 visa for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, E-3 visa for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT including the STEM OPT extension. For permanent residency, DoorDash also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for eligible employees in this function.
What qualifications does DoorDash expect for Strategy Manager candidates?
DoorDash typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in a quantitative, economics, or business discipline, often with an MBA for senior-level strategy roles. Practical experience in management consulting, investment banking, or a high-growth tech company carries significant weight. Strong SQL skills, comfort structuring ambiguous problems, and experience presenting to senior stakeholders distinguish competitive applicants in DoorDash's strategy interview process.
How do I apply for Strategy Manager jobs at DoorDash?
You can browse open Strategy Manager roles on DoorDash's careers site or use Migrate Mate to filter verified openings by visa type to confirm sponsorship eligibility before you apply. DoorDash's strategy interview process typically includes a case study and a cross-functional stakeholder interview. Tailoring your application to the specific vertical, such as Merchant, Consumer, or New Verticals, improves your chances of moving forward.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take once DoorDash extends an offer?
Timeline depends on your visa category. For H-1B transfers or E-3 and TN petitions, processing can move within a few weeks, particularly with premium processing through USCIS. For new H-1B cap-subject petitions, you'd need to wait for the October 1 start date following a successful March lottery registration. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship for EB-2 or EB-3 categories typically takes one to two years before a petition is filed.
