Align your credentials to U.S. licensure standards
Horrocks hires for licensed and licensure-track engineering roles. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved body before applying so your qualifications read clearly to their hiring team.
Target roles matching your OPT or CPT timeline
F-1 candidates should apply to Horrocks roles at least two to three months before OPT start dates. Engineering projects run on tight staffing schedules, so a gap between your authorization start and project kickoff can cost you the offer.
Ask directly about H-1B sponsorship in your first interview
Horrocks operates across construction and infrastructure, where project-based budgets affect sponsorship decisions at the team level. Confirm whether the specific engineering team and role are approved for H-1B filing before investing time in later-stage interviews.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open engineering roles
Horrocks posts engineering positions across multiple geographies and disciplines simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to surface the roles that explicitly support your visa type, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already on the table.
Understand how TN status applies to your engineering discipline
Canadian and Mexican engineers may qualify for TN status if their role and degree field meet DOL's defined specialty occupation criteria. Confirm your engineering discipline is listed under the TN schedule before positioning yourself as a TN candidate to Horrocks.
Build your offer letter around USCIS filing requirements
When Horrocks extends an offer, request that the offer letter specifies your job title, worksite location, and full-time status explicitly. USCIS requires this detail for I-129 petitions, and vague offer letters are a common cause of H-1B delays.

Find Engineering at Horrocks JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Horrocks sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Horrocks has sponsored H-1B visas for engineering roles. Sponsorship decisions are made at the team and project level, so availability can vary by discipline and location. Your strongest path is to confirm sponsorship eligibility with the hiring manager or recruiter early in the process, before reaching the offer stage.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Horrocks?
You can apply through Horrocks' careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can identify engineering positions where international candidates are welcome. Horrocks hires across civil, environmental, transportation, and infrastructure engineering, so search by your specific discipline to find the most relevant openings.
Which visa types does Horrocks support for Engineering roles?
Horrocks has worked with candidates on H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for engineering positions. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering civil or environmental roles. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican engineers in qualifying disciplines. H-1B sponsorship is available but tied to individual team budgets and project timelines.
What qualifications does Horrocks expect for Engineering candidates?
Horrocks typically expects a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as civil, environmental, or structural engineering. Many roles require or strongly prefer EIT certification or a path toward a Professional Engineer license. Project-based experience in construction or infrastructure is a consistent factor across their engineering job postings, regardless of visa status.
How do I plan my timeline when applying to Horrocks on an H-1B?
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date and work backward to ensure Horrocks can initiate your I-129 petition before the April filing window. Cap-exempt candidates, such as those already holding H-1B status, can be sponsored year-round without waiting for the lottery.
