Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Civil Engineer Jobs at Horrocks Jobs
Frame your PE licensure trajectory early
Horrocks values engineers on a clear path to Professional Engineer licensure. Before applying, document your EIT status or exam eligibility so hiring managers can see your credentials align with their project delivery requirements without added uncertainty.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Horrocks openings by sponsorship type
Horrocks posts Civil Engineer roles across multiple job boards, but not all listings flag visa sponsorship explicitly. Use Migrate Mate to surface only the positions where Horrocks has confirmed sponsorship eligibility for your specific visa category.
Highlight CAD, GIS, and infrastructure software proficiency
Civil Engineer roles at Horrocks in transportation and land development consistently require AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS platform experience. Listing these explicitly in your application signals immediate project contribution, which strengthens the business necessity case in the H-1B petition.
Confirm TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Civil Engineering is an explicitly listed TN profession under USMCA. If you qualify, TN status can be processed at a port of entry without USCIS adjudication delays, making your timeline to a Horrocks start date significantly shorter than the H-1B route.

Find Civil Engineer at Horrocks JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Horrocks sponsor H-1B visas for Civil Engineers?
Yes, Horrocks sponsors H-1B visas for Civil Engineer roles. Civil Engineering qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria given the degree requirements for the position. Because H-1B is subject to the annual cap and lottery, timing your application cycle with Horrocks is important. Confirm sponsorship intent directly with the recruiter during the offer stage.
Which visa types does Horrocks commonly use for Civil Engineer roles?
Horrocks sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for Civil Engineer positions. TN is a faster route for Canadian and Mexican citizens since Civil Engineering is a named USMCA profession. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship through the annual lottery.
What qualifications does Horrocks expect for Civil Engineer positions?
Horrocks typically expects a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited program. Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and GIS tools is frequently required for their transportation and land development projects. Progress toward Professional Engineer licensure, including EIT certification, is viewed favorably and often expected for mid-level roles.
How do I apply for Civil Engineer jobs at Horrocks?
You can browse and apply for Civil Engineer positions at Horrocks through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to the specific project type listed, since Horrocks hires across transportation, municipal, and land development disciplines, and each team has distinct technical requirements.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing H-1B sponsorship through Horrocks?
H-1B registration opens in March each year for an October 1 start date. If Horrocks extends an offer and agrees to sponsor, the petition must be filed during that window. Factor in that USCIS adjudication can take several months without premium processing. If you're on OPT, verify your expiration date against the start date and confirm cap-gap coverage applies if needed.
