Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
VP roles at JPMorganChase typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. Make sure your degree and job title align precisely, because USCIS scrutinizes whether the specific role genuinely requires that field of study.
Target JPMorganChase's technology and risk divisions
JPMorganChase's technology, quantitative research, and risk management divisions hire VP-level candidates from outside the U.S. at higher rates than generalist corporate functions. Focusing your search on these verticals improves your odds of reaching sponsorship-eligible openings.
Use Migrate Mate to filter VP openings by visa type
JPMorganChase sponsors multiple visa categories for VP roles, including H-1B, E-3, and H-1B1 visa. Use Migrate Mate to filter open Vice President positions by the visa type relevant to your nationality so you're only applying to roles where you're eligible.
Understand how internal transfers affect your timeline
If you're joining JPMorganChase through a global mobility or internal transfer pathway, your H-1B petition may qualify for a cap-exempt filing. Confirm with the recruiting team early, because the filing route affects your start date and processing timeline.
Prepare for DOL prevailing wage requirements at the VP level
JPMorganChase must certify your offered salary meets DOL prevailing wage standards for your specific job title and location before filing your LCA. VP roles in New York City typically fall into Wage Level III or IV, so understand how your compensation package maps to those tiers.
Request a clear sponsorship timeline during the offer stage
Before signing an offer, confirm whether JPMorganChase will file a change of status or consular processing petition, and ask for the expected USCIS filing date. For H-1B cap-subject cases, your start date cannot precede October 1 of the relevant fiscal year.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for Vice Presidents?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for Vice President roles across divisions including technology, risk, compliance, and investment banking. The company files both cap-subject petitions for new hires and cap-exempt transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. Your specific role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field is required.
How do I apply for Vice President jobs at JPMorganChase?
Applications go through JPMorganChase's careers portal at jpmorganchase.com/careers. Roles are posted by line of business, so filtering by division such as commercial banking, technology, or asset management helps narrow results. You can also browse Vice President openings at JPMorganChase that explicitly offer visa sponsorship through Migrate Mate, which surfaces only sponsorship-eligible postings for your visa type.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase sponsor for Vice President roles?
JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for the broadest range of VP candidates. Australian citizens may be eligible for the E-3 visa, which follows a similar specialty occupation standard but has no lottery. H-1B1 visa status is available for Chilean and Singaporean nationals. For long-term employees, JPMorganChase also supports Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 PERM-based pathways, typically after several years in a permanent role.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for Vice President candidates requiring sponsorship?
VP roles at JPMorganChase generally require a relevant bachelor's degree at minimum, with most technical and quantitative positions expecting graduate credentials such as an MBA, master's, or PhD. Strong domain expertise is expected: risk and compliance VPs typically need several years of directly related experience, while technology VP roles often require demonstrable engineering or architecture leadership. Your degree field must align specifically with the role function to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a JPMorganChase Vice President offer?
For H-1B cap-subject cases, the process begins with H-1B registration in March, and an approved start date cannot be earlier than October 1. Standard USCIS processing runs three to six months after filing; premium processing reduces adjudication to 15 business days for an additional fee. E-3 visa and H-1B1 visa petitions move faster because they're not subject to the lottery, and consular processing for E-3 visa appointments in Australia currently runs two to six weeks depending on the consulate.
