Document your trade certifications before applying
Life Time maintenance roles often require verifiable credentials like HVAC, electrical, or pool systems certifications. Gather and translate any foreign-issued licenses early, since employers in facilities-heavy industries verify these before extending offers.
Target clubs with active facility expansion
Life Time regularly opens large-format locations requiring immediate maintenance staffing. Applying during a club's pre-opening phase increases your chances of landing a role before headcount is locked, which is when sponsorship conversations are most productive.
Clarify OPT authorization timing with your DSO
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 12-month work authorization window starts on your approved start date, not your hire date. Confirm with your Designated School Official that your start date aligns with Life Time's onboarding timeline to avoid gaps.
Ask about PERM eligibility during final interviews
Life Time has pursued permanent residency pathways for maintenance workers. When you reach the offer stage, ask directly whether the role is eligible for EB-2 or EB-3 PERM sponsorship and what the company's typical timeline looks like from hire to filing.
Search Life Time maintenance openings on Migrate Mate
Filter by Life Time and the maintenance function on Migrate Mate to surface roles where the company has a sponsorship history. This lets you prioritize applications to locations and job titles that have moved through the filing process before.
Verify your work authorization status through E-Verify
Life Time participates in E-Verify, which electronically confirms employment eligibility. Before your start date, review your I-9 documents and confirm there are no discrepancies in your name or visa status that could trigger a tentative non-confirmation and delay your first day.

Find Maintenance at Life Time JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Life Time sponsor H-1B visas for Maintenances?
Life Time's maintenance sponsorship history centers on employment-based Green Card pathways like EB-2 and EB-3, rather than H-1B visas. Maintenance roles in sports and recreation facilities are typically classified as skilled trades, which align more naturally with EB-3 labor certification than H-1B specialty occupation requirements. If H-1B is your pathway, discuss role classification carefully with the hiring team.
Which visa types are commonly used for Maintenance roles at Life Time?
Life Time has sponsored maintenance workers through EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card categories, and has also supported F-1 OPT and CPT authorization for students in relevant technical programs. EB-3 is the most common route for skilled trades roles in facilities management, as it covers workers with two or more years of training or experience in a specific occupation.
What qualifications and experience does Life Time expect for Maintenance roles?
Life Time typically looks for candidates with hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, or pool and aquatic equipment, given the scale of its fitness campuses. Trade certifications are a strong differentiator. Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems is valued, particularly for senior or lead technician positions across multi-location facilities.
How do I apply for Maintenance jobs at Life Time?
You can browse current Life Time maintenance openings directly on the company's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles with a known sponsorship track record. When applying, highlight any certifications, relevant equipment experience, and prior work in large commercial or recreational facilities. Tailor your application to the specific club location, as maintenance needs vary by property size and amenities.
How do I understand the sponsorship timeline for a Life Time Maintenance role?
For EB-3 PERM sponsorship, the process typically spans two to four years from the start of labor certification through Green Card approval, depending on your country of birth and USCIS processing times. Life Time initiates PERM after a period of employment. If you're on OPT, your 12-month window starts ticking immediately, so aligning your hire date and sponsorship conversations early in the process matters significantly.
